Probably allowing it because it's summer? And people are still fearing F7s lol.

Define beat? That thing would do better top end than you. Also your 500 probably would be anywhere close to his 800, lets not fool ourselves.

Can you beat an Apex? I raced an F7 when I had my Apex and barely beat him. I think he was stock and know I was except for studs.

I think who ever has the wieght transfer set up the best will win. It will be all about the traction considering your motors are around the same hp. It will also depend on how big the other guy is. (The cheapest way to lose weight on a snowmobile is for the rider to go on a diet.)

yeah seriously f5 ??? uhh not so much. well lets put it this way, if my dads friend had an f5 i wouldnt be posting this becuase there is NO doubt i could spank it. There is nothing wrong with this topic either. Its not like its under tech tips or anything its under general. I also raced a Blair Morgan sdi 600 ski doo and that wasnt much of a race. in 660 feet i beat him by about 6-8 sled lengths. I'm a smaller guy than he is. He has about 30 pounds on me.

F5's top out at about 95 on the speedo. Fast til 80 then hello brick wall. It crawls to 90. Race him in 3 inches of loose snow and you may have a chance. One thing that makes them so fast is the track as well. 13.5 inches wide. Less friction. Hopefully you hook up good and he doesnt then you may get him at 660. Anything over that and you are beat.

I have an 02xc sp 800 with a slp pipe slp heads boost bottle and v-force reeds and my buddy has an 900 artic cat with a clutch kit. He will beat me by one sled length in 1000 ft, as soon as I drop my suspension down I will beat him by 3 sled lengths in 1000 ft. (It is amazing what suspension setups'do.)

idk ive never ridden an F7 but i know that polaris makes sneaky fast sleds. like the black mach z and the polaris 900 raced on snowgoer and the 900 was able to beat the 1000 cc mach z. i think its really close but you might have it.
Hey "MuscleD", The Mach Z is a Ski-Doo, not Polaris

yeah firecat59 it would be less friction on the track but that also leads to less traction.

its allowed becuase he is asking it in a nice way and not just a who would win with no other info given.
the f-7s have a good rep for a reason, but it all comes down to what sled is better setup for the conditions you are in. he has almost 20 hp on you and a good chunk less weight. one thing to remember is have your gas tank as low as possible on fuel. if he is full of gas and you are empty that is a 60 lb swing in your favor.

Gear down, clutch it, and then you may have a chance. Oh, and jet for the temps, or at least drop your needles a notch. 800 non-ves were 130hp stock, plenty of bottom end grunt, but not much on top. I owned one back then, my buddy's '00 600xcsp would be right on my azz all the time.

no its a 600 xcr. on long runs not many f-7 run with an 800 xcr. I used to race 700/800 twins when my xcr was stock and it wasnt much of a race. i could play with the gas a lot and still win.

He was comparing the 900's speed to the mach. He meant that the 900 is 150cc less and it still beat it.

My brother was riding an 01 ZL 550, balls to the walls, on hard pack, and my dad went off the trail into soft powder and passed him as if he was anchored. He also spanked an 02 SXViper 700 tripple. Go down the trail 50 mph, give it some gas and the skis will still come of the ground. If you're wondering he has an 08 Crossfire 800 sno pro. Even the 02 SXViper was having trouble outrunning my 98 ZL 500 all stock (no joke), it's a fast little bugger. So Polariskid37, be prepared to get spanked by the F-7. I will be surprised if you would win. Best of luck to you because you will need it.

Listen to Madcow, But even doing that i still dont think your gonna take it, he is gonna have to bascially spin the track half of the race and you hook up excellent to have a shot. F-7s are very notorius for being a major pain in the ass for other brands. There isn't virtually anything in the same class or even maybe a class higher that will put one to rest stock to stock.
