I have seen more and more people putting vinyl stickers or covers on their hoods. I think they look really nice and I'm thinking about getting some for my sled(s). I was wondering if you can remove these cleanly and if they hurt your paint. often time if you sell your sled you can get more if everything is stock, and if I ever sold my sled and decided to take off the vinyl I was wondering if it was possible.

A vinyl sticker usually wont harm your paint at most they will just leave a sticky residue which can be easily cleaned off

I've always used a hair drier and some patience. After that, a little bit of spray on sticker remover.. and you're golden. Stay away from the goof-off... especially on the windshield

I've removed tons of stickers and stock decals. A hair-dryer works best or a heat gun if you got it(no reason though). Just heat it up for 30 seconds or so and its like rubber. Peel it off and clean the area up with windex or armorall. I always use my g/f's nail polish remover for the leftover sticky areas so the dirt doesint stick to it and give it a ugly look down the line.

A friend of mine took off the center hood sticker on his 08 800 dragon, and the clear coat from under the sticker came with it. He didn't use a blow dryer or anything, so it held on tight, ripped the clear coat right off. That kind of sucked for him. Doesn't seem like very good qualty clear coat. I would just always heat it up first so it's not as big a deal.

I'll try the hairdryer thing and good tip on not using the goo off. I've never really liked that stuff

Well that depends on the quality of the paint on the hood and the quality of the decals. The high quality stuff comes of easily with next to no adhesive to clean afterwords (which could really suck to remove) Add a little head to help the process (aka hairdryer) I'd be happy to offer some professional advice to you. I do custom sled graphics www.groundzerodesigngroup.com so feel free to check me out, I create everything so it's 100% custom and the decals are the same material that the manufacturers use. Check it out and good luck
