Do you have any pictures of what it might look like and a possible cost? If you are selling them, i might be interested. It depends on if my parents let me.

Man im shocked and shaken with this news. No more blair in races that will be weird as hell. when was it like 10 11 years ago when he debuted at snowcross tracks and totally dominated the season with points and victories. I've always enjoyed watching blair morgan race regardless what he rode sled or bike and it will be a weird racing season without strong racer like Blair. God bless Blair, I will miss watching you Race.

http://www.bmrt.com/Blair Update Sep 22
September 23rd, 2008, filed under From Morgan | 27 Comments »
From Terri Morgan Blair’s wife. As most of you know Blair has suffered a substantial injury due to a crash while practicing for Montreal Supercross at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal. During Saturday afternoon practice in Montreal, Blair sustained substantial injuries to his middle back. A surgery was performed and went well, however it was soon discovered that as a result of the vertebrae separating from each other on impact, Blair’s spinal cord was severed, leaving him with paralysis from his middle back down. He was taken off the ventilator soon after surgery and has been progressing well since. This afternoon (September 22, 2008) he was moved out of ICU to the orthopaedic floor and arrangements are now being made for his transfer closer to home. He is resting now and he is focused on recovering and working closely with the physiotherapists. I know as most of you do as well, Blair is a fighter and this incidence will not keep him down for long.

Special thanks to everyone for their well wishes, just so you know there are so many people rooting for Blair and we really appreciate it so much.

Please feel free to e-mail your questions and well wishes to Blair at blairmorganrecovery@gmail.com

No new reports since the 22nd. It is a shock but as a racer you need to go into each event knowing in the back of your mind this could happen. Sucks it happend. Hopefully he can recover and atleast ride a sled in a leisure activity. Atleast he is alive, he still has his wife, son, family and fellow sledheads for support.

woodbooga: (WOOD-boog-ah), n. regional dialect, common to areas of New Hampshire and Maine including the towns of Ossipee, Alton, Farmington, Acton, and Lebanon; one who attempts to obtain free firewood to fuel woodburning appliances in an effort to mitigate expenses related to home heating with fossil fuels. Frequently used as a term of derision by non-woodburners who mock the presence of loose bark and other wood waste in the beds of their pickup trucks.

Blair Morgan brought about the change that has made sno-x what it is today.

Before Blair there was a sit down riding style, be polite and avoid contact in the turns and try to make a trail sled ride in the bumps type of racing. Does anyone else remember how Toni Haikonen was dominating sno-x in the 90's and was taken out of the spotlight in one race when Morgan showed up with the, now common, stand-up riding style?

I don't like cats, and I thought Morgan was an A-hole the first time I saw him pushing guys off the track in the corners. But there is no denying the way he could take that old ZR and make it float through the roughest mogul sections while other guys were slapping the face of every bump and destroying their sleds. After he toned down the aggressive dirt bike side of his riding style he forced riders to step up or loose the race. When riders started standing to ride they started demanding equipment to match the style, so the centralized mass idea was thrown into full swing and created the sleds we have today.

Morgan, as far as I'm concerned, was the rider that pushed sno-x to a new level of competition that all others had to match or face being failures. Just look at any old memovision videos of sno-x in the year just before Morgan came on the scene and then look at a video of sno-x three years later. It is two different worlds.

I hate to see this happen to him and I will pray he continues to excel in life in whatever way he can.

I once saw a you-tube video of a paraplegic man on a sled way up in the mountains. I highly doubt a world champion is going to let something like this keep him from getting back on the snow.

SO SO TRUE!!! If it wasnt for Blair Morgan sleds would still be sit down sleds without rider forward. He not only changed Sno-x but the entire sport of snowmobiling including the sleds.

In reflecting on the past week since our return to Saskatoon I would have to say that is has been bitter sweet for Blair. He has gotten to hug and cuddle the children as well as have visits with family.

Physiotherapy has been making him sore and very tired. As an athlete he acknowledges the pain and discomfort and has been working through it. The physiotherapists have been working with him to get stronger and have the ability to sit up for longer periods of time.

He has fully recovered for the initial trauma of the crash and is now working on rehabilitation and strength training to work with his body as it is now. He appreciates his friends and family’s patiiance with the limitations he has put on visitation until physio ceases to make it difficult to entertain visitors.

Tons of love going out to all those who are so supportive.

Terri Morgan

Good post BRP, all the best to his family and to Blair.

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers. Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other soldier. Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some. Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow. Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country. Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor. Rangers Lead The Way!.."All the way!" <<<<<1st Bat, 75th>>>>>

I emailed the blair morgan fund, and I asked how his recovery is going, and here is the response I got:

Blair is to go home next week, and then we will post an update. He has the use of arms and hands, he is paralyzed chest down but doing well.

For those of us in the Emergency Medical field, take a look at the pictures of rescue at his side.

I wasn't there so I can't say TOO much, but them pictures of his care after his wreck make me seriously CRINGE.
