Not required for the Timbersled intake. The only adjustment is SLP's re-program which makes their pipe work. I have heard that if you install the SLP program with stock pipe it works fantastic and as good as SLP pipe and program.

Other no BS mods/ adjustments to consider

-drop a tooth on top and add one on bottom for gearing
-new front mounts from guy on snowwest (name escapes me right now)
-do not install a torque arm on a laydown engine. Torque links must pull at 90 degrees to force or F#*&'d up things happen.
-check carb boots every season
-Polaris 719 helix and same CCW spring

do you mean engine mounts.I had the recalls done and have had no problems. If you mess with the gearing do you have to mess with the mapping or jets?
what temp should I be running at?
Do carb boot crack easy on these machines?

You wont have to touch the jeting/remapping unless you pipe it. The cleanfire takes care of that stuff for you. They had carb boot problems on this sled. Many guys have replaced them. On my 700 they were cracked but not all the way through. Easy way to check is get a can of starter fluid, start the sled and spray it on the carb boots. If the engine revs higher, replace the boots. Those modes listed are the best thing you can do to the 900. STUD IT IF IT ISN'T ALREADY. That helix really brings out the 900 and the 700. Very good helix to use.

There is a guy called Compfusion on snowwest that makes proper motor mounts, actually they look like the old Polaris racing mounts from wedge era. A lot of guys added extra vents to sled to help keep underhood temps down. These sleds rock.

I understand even the new IQ's (which is a Fusion chassis) are breaking mounts and that includes 600's. Bad things can happen with broken mounts besides loss of rpm and blowing belts.

Broken mount

many of us geared it down too. Stock gearing is 25/37 some geared down to 24/38 and some did 24/37. i had 24/37 and really liked it. I never had one problem with my sled and it ran great.

I added vents, geared down, 420719 TEAM helix, and a timbersled intake.

Temps do not matter with the CFI. The common sec. spring choice is the Team pn 210182 155-222 Black/Red. Some like the EPI 78 gram bellybuster weights. Most like the SLP reflash done by Polaris dealer, I assume you have checked that you have all updates done.

I bought it last year from a dealer and had the vin ran to make sure that everything was done. They had to do the gas tank and neck before I could pick it up but everything else was done. I rode about 400 miles on it before the end of the season came and I just want to make sure I wake it up for this season. I want to make sure all the pre-maint. is done also.
spring color -I meant for the helix

Your sled I believe came with a black sec spring or a black/red. The 06's came with red/black and most find it better. The pn I listed in post #8 is wrong- D'oh!. I will have to look for the Team chart for the red black sec spring pn. I remember 140-240 is spring rate which most use and some use an EPI Orange with same 140-240 rate.

does it matter where I screw the bracket to the timbersled intake? The instructions are vague .

You have drill into the flanges that hang down from the intake. I put the intake into the plenum and drilled through the plastic until i hit the flange. This should give you a mark on the flange so you know where to drill. Next take the flange off of the plenum to drill the holes.

You shold also take the plenum off of the throttle body because when you install the self tapping screws there will be metal shavings that fall into the plenum that you don't want sucked into the engine.

lol... i just remembered. Make sure you use gasket sealer between the plenum and the intake to ensure a good seal.

what kind of gasket sealer?Mine came with foam around the bracket that looks like it will seal but I'm not sure that is why I'm asking.
You don't have any pic do you? i check you gallery and I didn't see any

By the way I did the same thing to my compartments.(vents)

What kind of seat did you put on it ? it looks great.

The direction don't call for it but I used black rtv sealer and my intake had the foam too. THis will make sure it seals. Make sure you tighten pretty tight too. Mine came loose and one screw fell out after my first ride.

I put that seat on for last season but ended up totaling the sled. I sold everything i could off of it. It is an 06 rmk seat with an 07 seat support and a polaris taillight.

I don't have any pics...

You should be able to force the pin into the grommet. did you bend the bracket where the nipples of the timbersled belt guard slides into place?

I wouldn't bend the belt guard. I just thought of something too. When you ordered it did you ask for a fusion belt guard? I forgot to tell timbersled that and they sent me one for the IQ RMKs and switchback.
