This head came off of a 99 700 motor that I bought at Haydays last year. I have looked everywhere and there does not appear to be a part number or any identification marks on it. I was wondering if anyone if anyone knows who may have made this head or any way to identify it.

Thanks for the help

+2 appear to be some sort of aftermarket head. Slp would be my guess also.

i believe there is only two manufacturers that make the cheater head design for that year. SLP is one but for the lift of me i can't remember the other one...

I'v been having the same problem. I have a set of aftermarket heads for a 700, but no idea who made them.. I do have a parts number, but still cant figure it out!
it looks similar to yours, but they do have a few differences... like on the corners of yours, theres holes for what looks to be for bolts, mine dosnt have that.

head reads 46ps100.

the domes say P80 and 10 A

id love to run aftermarket heads (just for the cool factor) but id need to know what altitude the domes are for and what brand it is so I can get a gaskit set.

The holes in the corners of the head had allen bolts in them witch bolted into the cylinders.

I was talking with 98700xc about this head; he says it’s a Chopper City head. They were the only companie to put the holes in the corners, also were one of the few to use a stepped dome insert that’s not bolted down. Chopper City is located in Mn.

Call Marv up at Chopper City, he'll tell yah if that head is fab'd by him..I bought a bunch of custom Helix's from Marv, he's a hoot, and if you get him on the right subject, be prepared to listen for quite a while!!!If you can find any numbers stamped on the dome, and start with a "10" call SLP-Jerry Matthews

I agree with 98700xcBB on both heads. The one looks like chopper city because of the corner holes. That was kinda their signature. The other looks like a psi head. I know the guy from psi responded to your post on their forum, but i don't think he knows what the hell he's talking about. I guarantee you with 100% confidence that it isn't an slp head. I had a psi head set years ago, and i think it looked like that, but i don't remember that well. I currently run slp heads on my 800, and they're designed quite diferently.

Actually, i have some good news and possibly bad news. The head is definitely psi. I have a bunch of old psi catalogs, and here's some pics of their design.

They're identical to yours. The bad news is, the part numbers for the heads seem to be for an 800. Their part number for an 800 head sea level is p80-11A. For a 700 it's p70-11a. I don't know why yours says 10A, but either way the p80 seems to suggest yours is for an 800. You could take a caliper and mearsure the squish area and see what diameter it is. Hope this helps, and sorry for the possible bad news.

hmm.. even if the PSI heads did fit my 700, would I notice improvment with stock porting and stock pipe?

If they are truely a after market head, check your compression, I believe stock is around 120 PSI, with the head kit, if your going over 135 PSI, then there will be improvement, so long as you are jetted, and clutched correctly. Clean the airbox out, or remove it for a couple of 1/4 miler passes and see.
