Well i was working on stuff for a game and i was working in notepad. And my PC started making noises like a cricket, then quit after a few seconds. But i went to do something in notepad, and it randomly selected stuff. So i closed out of that and it started selecting stuff on my desktop. So i shut the PC down for a few minutes and restarted. It was normal for about 5 minutes, then i made another weird noise and went back to how it was. But now when i click on something, instead of opening it in a new tab, it creates a whole new window. Which i didnt know until i saw no tabs, but 15 windows open. And i didnt change a thing on my PC. It just started on its own. I was just curious if anybody here might now what to do. I know it will randomly turn on cause i leave it in standby, and it turned on this morning. So i shut it down again, and it turned back on. So i might just leave it off and see if that helps.

This can be closed for now. Its back to normal.

Open it up and see if the fans for the processor are spinning freely. Make sure it's not packed full of dust bunnies and such. Sounds like the processor is overheating.

Who Cares what people think, most of the time they don't!!

From the sounds of it one of your keys had something pressing it down or was stuck down. For example if the ctrl key was stuck or what ever the hot key is for opening a new window for your browser ctrl N opens a new window with Mozilla Firefox. But with the key being stuck it filled the buffer and basically gave you the same audible alarm as mashing all the keys on your keyboard on at once would.

Hope that explains a probable cause.
