Clearence from wife unit approved.

I'll be there Friday morning through Sunday morning.

Don't forget to tie the sled into the trailer this time

Winter Games at Lake Okoboji in IA are over this weekend. I was going to go to the ice drags, but this looks like more fun.
None of you on this blog are from IA so it probably doesnt apply though

I'm from Iowa

Never been to the winter games over there. Thought about it last year, but couldn't get the time off from work.

I'm thinking about going to this SF ride, but it is all going to depend upon work and cash flow again... as usual. I'm sure I could get the time off, but things really haven't been going good at work lately. It seems like every time I make plans to take vacation for something sled related, someone quits, gets fired, or things go nuts. Since I'm the shift supervisor, I kind of have to take care of those problems. Sometimes my job sucks!

Anyway, once again I'll be playing "Hide and Watch" for this gathering.

Not so long ago, a deranged, ranting person's audience was limited to how many people happened to be on the same street. The Internet, however, has certainly allowed "crazy" to go global...

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion. Moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!

Yes I can watch the Super Bowl at a bar. But can I watch it with family and friends while in MN? No. The Super Bowl is like a holiday to me and family/friends. So scheduling a ride on the weekend of it is like scheduling it on Christmas to me. Like I said I may be unextreme but I wont be going because of the date. Shame on me for enjoying time with friends and family over snowmobiling.

Looking at the map, Isabella isn't that far away from Ely where I have gone the past two years and plan on going back in February. Always has some great trail conditions. It is so beautiful up there.
Here's some pics.

-To ride or not to ride, what a stupid question!
-You should never judge a guy until you have walked a mile in his shoes, then you are a mile away and have his shoes
-Ice, snow, or grass, I'll still kick your ass.
-"And when he gets to Heaven, to St. Peter he will tell, one more soldier reporting Sir I have served my time in Hell"

I do not know, to many lakes to remember the names but the bottom right pic is Lake Vermillion.

Birch lake is just north of Babbitt and is a lot longer than it is wide. Vermillion is not the far away also....

Where about? Our group has been going up there for 11 seasons, We have the 24' black enclosed trailer that parks at either the Mooseridge motel or behind Tom and Liz's cafe.

You know where the Moose Run trail runs the ditch of HWY. 1 for a stretch? I live on the straight away before the trail turns up Doyle Lake road, so just on the Finland side of Wildhurst.

That's about right!!!

We switch between a couple diesels and a big gasser. It holds 5 short track sleds, a grill and all our gear.

We ride past there on our way to Finland. . . . if we are not taking the logging road routes.

Well our auditors are going to be in that week. So it looks like I won't be getting Friday off. If they leave early I would leave right afterwards and still make it for the afternoon and enjoy a few beverages Friday nite. Otherwise I guess I'll be up Saturday morning. Kinda sucks.
