I'd go for an xc sp 500 in the edge chassie, like an 03 +. Yea it is a 500, but it's very quick and has a good suspension. Pick them up for cheap as well and then you can throw all of your goodies on it. Or you can go with the newer sleds and get a rev. Pick up something like a mxz 500 ss. Buddy has one and it's a great sled.
If it were me starting out, I would look into an arcticcat F5. Has everything that you need/want. Great for jumping, fast to a point and it will show up some of your friends or give them a goood run.

Yeah, I think that XCF would be perfect for her. Either that or a 440 Pro X if she has a good mechanic around. Otherwise, anything Edge 600.

yea the zr 580's and 600's are nice. they are more of a race type sled so you can jump them. i jump mine. anyway james that is a nice sled and i think that would be a good beginner sled for sure. its not overly fast(from what i would imagine dont know the motor work done to her) and its probably pretty light and it looks sick...

97 zr 580 running then broke again :(. got water in the crank case.
98 indy 500 L/C good trail banger.
97 Vmax SX 700 triple/ triple. fast trail sled.
92 bronco XLT 5.8 litre, hooker headers, strait pipes, 31" mudders. soon a 3" lift so i can get 33's.

Its great, it runs stong, it will do about 75kmhs on a -20 day. Studded track, tank of a motor.

Polaris Edge 500 or 600. 550's are great sleds, but if you want to show up your guy friends, 60 horse wont do it with an unexperienced rider. The Edge suspension is great for handling jumps and bumps plus the 500-600 liberty twins put out good power. 500 is around 100 while the 600 is around 120 which either will seem blazingly fast to you as you dont look like you weight over 120. (If that is your picture.)
Welcome to the site by the way.
yeah ,
thats me,
600, as long as its fast, im happy lol :) Quote originally posted by arcticcatmatt

Welcome
I always thought the Indy 500-600 where good reliable sleds,
You can pick up a XC500 probably around $1800, depending on where you live and condition of sled.
make sure the sled you buy has been well taken care of.

The only thing is why get a 600 if you're a beginner and can't even handle the thing?

Because if this would be ur first sled, u probably don't have that much experience. But, if u have a lot of experience, then a 600 would be good to go beat ur friends with.

Start with a 440cc or 500cc and when you gain more experience then get a bigger sled, perhaps working up to 1000cc, but for jumping, you don't want to go with a big bore sled. For winding trails then a smaller sled would keep up just fine. My ZL 500 has 95hp and topped out at 90-95mph.
