if its the same simple key switch that the olders ones have then yes. i have forgot my keys many times and just unplug the switch. Kinda like a lock on a screen door, it will only keep honest people honest.
Easiest way to tell would be try it.

polaris's older sleds have 6 different keys. you can tell teh key by the dots by the word polaris. to answer your question tho all older polaris's im not sure bout the IQ's but all polaris if you unplug the ignition switch you can start the sled. jsut unplug the two wires that slide in the back pull the kill switch up and the sled will fire. kinda nice to know but scary at the same time cuz someone could steal a sled relitivly easy knowing this. hope i answerd your question in my rambling

Doesn't the Pro-X have the reg/premium switch? If it does, I'm not sure where you would start...there were four or five wires that go to the back of the switch. Unlike the three the old wedgies had. I do know that if the furthest starboard wire comes undone, the premium fuel switch doesn't work.
I like to ride. Even if you have a Doo/Yami/Cat/Poo, so be it. I bought my snowmobile to have fun, not to tell everyone mine is better than yours. My preference...POLARIS, BABY!

It should. the igniniton switch and kill switch are normally open(disconnected) if contact between the wires occurs this will shut it off. this is the reason there is no jumper in the spot where you would plug in a tether. The reg premium is probably just has two wires going to the switch. for regular they would be open(disconnected) and for premium they would be closed although i am not 100% shure about the premium regular thing.

on the back of the ignition there is a small plug with 3 wires on it and a single wire pull them all off and it will start and run fine

Some folks had their way with my sled last season...I went for a pizza to feed all these fu%^$rs and I come back and my sled is gone. About ten minutes later it comes back, with an Amish guy at the helm...and all MY gear on....still not happy about that one! And it all came down to just unplugging the ignition.

Terrible idea, but every sled I had I unplugged the ignition wires because of that. I was always forgetting where my keys were.lol Never had any problems with people emssing with it surprisingly. I don't think you will have a problem on the edge unplugging it and have it running. Kin of a pointless accesory really, it's too easy to unplug it, anyone can do it and take off with your sled in seconds.

We wired in another toggle switch under the hood on my buddies xlt so when you parked it for a while and you were gonna be away from the sled, you could just flip the switch and it wouldn't start even if you unplugged the wires. Just make sure the switch is well hidden.. and not in some obvious location as in right beside the key switch. Either way if you own all 5 keys for the newer wedge chassis you could get your hands on them anyways. But only dicks steal sleds.
