i have a 95 xcr and i wanted to put studs on it with a pack i have laying around. they are 1.4" studs and my tracks lugs are .9". some people say they run 3/8" to 1/2" above the lug and they it works great. others say they are defiantly to long. now i no i will have to limit the places and surfaces that i will drive on but if im careful for the most part will i be ok?

I think i'd go with 1.25" studs. 1.4 you'll probably end up bending them pretty easily depending on what kind of nut you have on em and what kind of riding you do the most.

1.4's are definately too long, and you will bend them, or worse yet, have some pull throughs.

I bend studs running a 1.5" Ripsaw with 1.575" inch studs with double-backers. They never seem to bend forward or back, but sideways from hard cornering. Since the initial installation, I replaced ALL the singles with double-backers and that works much better.

If you don't run in the rocks, you can run studs that are 3/8" above your track lugs. Especially whith that smooth triple. I ran 120 with that engine and it worked good. Good Luck

I will guarantee if you put 1.4 inch studs in a 95 Polaris Wedge Chassis you will saw the tunnel in half. There isn't enough room around the front axel and front cooler. I wouldn't do it.

studs work best if they are 1/4 longer than track longer or shorter will decrease acceleration and breaking. read the oct, snowgoer magazine they talk bout it.
