I have a 1990 Polaris Indy 400 liquid with reverse and a 1992 Polaris SKS 500 EFI with reverse and electric start. Does anyone know if parts are interchangeable between the two.

Both are Indy wedge style sleds. The engines are identical with exclusion of the cyl/piston size, one is carb'd, and one is efi. Also one is a long tracker the other is not.
What are you looking to do?

Im trying to make one good sled.both are pretty rough. The 400 is in better shape, but I want the electric start and EFI.The sled will be built for my 11 yr old
so it dosent need to be fast ,I want it to be reliable. Also what year was the xtra-10 started?

Xtra 10 rear -1996
Xtra 10 front and rear 1998 and early build 1997 xcr 440s

EFI you should buy a new battery every year. If I were you I would put the E-start on the 400 and forget about the EFI for the 11 y/o. You will have to swap the 2 primary clutches and their innerds. (weights and spring) The 400 will run with the 500 on a good day and is plenty of engine for a 11 y/o.

I am going to use the 400. Any information about installing the e-start
would be a great help. I've heard nothing but good about the 400,and it is the cleaner & most complete of the two. What years were the wedge

chassis used?

Wedge Chassis = Eons.

First wedge was a 1980 TX-L Indy 340 I believe. Last was 98. Changes through the years, but overall the same type of look.0

Actually, if the 400 doesn't already have an electric start, I wouldn't put the time and effort into installing one, but that's just me.
Most of the other parts are interchangeable.
