Question about ressi shocks - Do they need to be recharged? started by BRP-4-LIFE

I don't know much about shocks, but, with the Arctic Cat ressi shocks, if you crack a ressi line on them, do you need to get a new line and then get the shock re-charged? If so, what does this normally cost.

And please people, don't bash this, because there is nothing wrong with this topic at all and we all know that.

No, there was no prices, but thanks to the search function, last year he had shock rebuilds priced at $25 a shock. I don't actually need a rebuild do I? Or does it just need to be re-pressurized?

The guy had the shocks just fully rebuilt, but then he accidentally pinched the line and it started leaking. So it has new oil and was just re filled and what-not. What exactly do you need to fill them? A pressurized nitrogen tank with a PSI gauge on it?

My dad just said, "Well, if all it needs is the nitrogen to be refilled, couldn't you just bring it to the airport since they have a nitrogen bottle there to re-fill the tires on a plane?". Never thought of that, could I just drive down to the local airport and get it re-charged?

If the oil leaked out of the line it will have to be rebuilt anyways.

Good luck finding the right fitting to charge them...I tried this when I rebuilt mine a few years ago.
