For as long as I've owned my XC, the front springs have been cranked almost to the adjustment maximum. I only weigh 190#s, and the springs still have that soft feeling to them and bottom on harsh bumps. There is no doubt a replacement is in order.

My question is this: has anyone seen a polaris spring chart for front springs? I'm looking to either put new OEM 180# springs back in it or jumping up the next size.

Has anyone ever looked into going titanium? Speedwerx(http://www.hotseatperformance.com/psp/sh...&CATID=252) makes the "H5 alloy" springs...anyone here anything bad or good? I've noticed it's only $60/ compared to the $48/ through Polaris.

Thanks in advance to any suggestions!

I like to ride. Even if you have a Doo/Yami/Cat/Poo, so be it. I bought my snowmobile to have fun, not to tell everyone mine is better than yours. My preference...POLARIS, BABY!

Ti are lighter and last longer. They won't improve the ride. When you say 180# springs do you really mean 90-180? !80 is way to stiff. What year is your sled? I ask because most edge xc's came with 68-160 springs and a 90-180 would be a good move for you. Otherwise if you could go with a 110 or 120 straight rate.

jbshocks, sorry...I have the 68/160# springs in it now! I have a 2003 XC SP 600. I wasn't looking to improve the ride really, just hoping to stop the bottoming on hard bumps. Springs are definetely in order, due to the lack of higher adjustment on the current springs. What would be the advantage to going "strait rate" springs? Does anything need to be done to the valving in the shocks? Are the titanium springs really going to be that noticable on a sled such as mine? I was just thinking they would hold their rate for a longer period of time...the current springs only have 3600 miles on them, and seem to be weak already.

I don't think you will notice ti. Some say less body roll with straight rate. I prefer dual springs with cross over rings but otherwise I go with dual rate springs. Your valving will be fine with any of these spring options. I do prefer to change the valving on a straight rate set up in many cases but I would see how it goes. Also don't over look the shocks. 6 years and 3600 is well over due for a rebuild. I would rebuild shocks and put 90/180's in and you will be happy.
