what is the top speed for a 1990 pahzer 2. i can only get it up to 72 at about 7000rpm. but if i take off the clutch and put on a dummy clutch it goes up to 10,000rpm. do i need to rebuild the secondary?

10,000 isn't that good for your sled

70-75 mph is about all those sleds had. You might see 80 mph if you were on bare ice or a road, but thats about it.
Those Phazers were only intended to spin about 7,000 rpm and I can tell you for a fact that making it turn 10,000 rpm is going to make that motor blow up. It was never designed for those kinds of rpms.

LMFAO!!!!!! Bull sh*t you got 85 let alone 95 out of it. The best I've ever gotten was 83.9 on the gun. That was on ice, with an AAEN pipe, Clutched at 7800m with some very minor porting, and vmax 600 carbs. So Don't get to carried away with your BS Speedo speeds! Another CYI!

Agreed! I saw this topic and had to look to see where the BS meter was and it's in the brown for sure.

On a perfect day in perfect conditions with perfect set-up you'd be lucky to see 85 (speedo).

I think some guys don't realize the amount of error on a snowmobile speedo at higher speeds, slippage can really throw the speed off by quite a bit, not so bad on studded machines. I know personally my speedo was about 4 mph off when I ran a radar run a few years back.

my phazer does 95 in a long stretch but she only does about 85 at full throttle runs faster at about 2 thirds throttle and remember when the skis hit the ground its still a phazer

are some of these guys thinking of an exciter? 95 mph would be a little more realistic on a 570 , i HIGHLY doubt a phazer will do 95 mph my friend had a phazer 2 and it would not do much more that 80 mph
