What is a good moutnain to go snowmobiling on?
- I am looking for a mountain that my intermediate 11 year old son could ride on. Preferably in BC. Is Golden a good mountain?

crowsnest pass AB and Fernie BC are great places to start riding. both areas have generally low avalanche danger and there is a variety of riding from beginner trails to the steep and deep. Its where i first started mountain riding. I would not reccomend golden to unseasoned mountain riders.
if its your first time make sure u have a guide or a freind that knows the arear to get the most out of your trip. make sure u got avalanche beacons, probes, and shovels.
cheers
Spenser

id agree with roughrider. Fernie and the crowsnest pass offer all types or riding. a suitable machine is what you son needs to have fun in the mountains and lean though. try and find him like a M6 or a M5 something. A good mountain chassis, like the M's. A good are and a good sled is what will encourage him to keep riding.
whats he ride now?

Golden is a great place, they have all types of areas to ride, and learn. Quartz Creek is very popular, and they groom. Also there is Blayberry (sp) and Suzan lake along with alot of other areas.
I would say that Golden has some of the more challenging areas to ride, but if you live close, you can find a good spot to take your kid.
If you need more info, talk to the guys at Motor-tec, the are snowmobiling in Golden, and will help you out.
Good luck
Fix it till its broke!

First Ride In The Mountains I Ever Went On Was Boulder Mountain, Revelstoke. Sled I Took There was a 550f rmk 136 X 1.25.
Had It Not been for the useless sled, it would have been a fun ride, i went back there last year with an 07 600 switchback with a snostuff rumble pack and a camoplast backcountry 144 X 1 3/4 track, and it was the best time of my life, i highly recommend Boulder To anyone, Novice Or Pro...
