I'm hoping there will be decent snow somewhere in the state after New Years. Hopefully we can get something together on a longer weekend for those of us in school. Last year was a blast, but for my buddies and I, got tiresome driving for that one day of riding (1000 miles round trip for me for 85 miles of riding). If we could ride 2 or 3 days and find a hotel somewhere, that would be great.
But, of course, this requires snow first...

In the Eastern part of the state and with lots of snow I would be interested, if you would let an MN rider join?

Its hard to plan anything ahead of time when you dont know when/if we will get snow. Almost have to wait and see what part of the state gets hit the hardest and go from there.

I think I would be interested in that too. Most of the time my snowmobile is in Ottertail County anyway which is not all that far from North Dakota.

Do you Dakotans ride that big ridge that is between Langdon and Cavalier? That looks like some killer riding terrain in that area if there's snow. Do Minnesotans have to buy a ND tag, or is there reciprocity between the states?
Brian, where in Ottertail County is your sled? I'm from Alex. We should ride sometime.

Rubi - Our family has a cabin about half way between the cities of Battle Lake and Ottertail. I drive through Alexandria all the time on my way there. I was checking out some trail maps the other night on the DNR website, looks like Carlos SP has some decent trails.
I would like to meet in Alex someplace and go riding. Our crew has about one week of work left at the quarry so I'm ready for some snow any time now.

Cavalier/Walhalla area will probably be the best bet for good snow. Also there is alot of good riding around that area. There is a motel in Walhalla that is great to sledders.
No matter where it is I am going to try as hard as I can to go this year.

So here's what I've come up with so far...I'll be around Langdon from December 27 to New Years, and then I'll be back on January 16th-18th with my brother, cousin and Bro-In-Law. I'll let everyone know how things go over Christmas break up there.

I'm free from Dec 26 to Jan 11 or so if we have snow somewhere in that timeframe would be cool.

Ill be gone over Christmast Break for a trip to cooke city, But I will be back on the 2nd of January. I think up in Pembina would be fun, but I think we should find a place where its kinda in the middle for everyone, so its not so bad for driving for everyone

I would rather drive further to a somewhere like Cavalier/Walhalla and ride in good snow than drive less and ride is ****ty snow conditions.
It's going to pretty much be a wait and see kind of thing until we see what part of the state is going to get snow.

The ND SF ride was brought up to me earlier, so I am updating this...
Seems the majority of the state has good snow right now, so I would think we could get a ride going in the nearly far future.
Personally, I have Presidents day off from school (Feb. 16), so I'd be up for a ride Feb. 14/15 somewhere. Somewhere with easy hotel access is nice for those that may need/want it.
Where ever we go, I think it'd be nice if we had somebody that at least kind of knew the area for some off-trail fun where applicable...
Certainly up for discussion though!

I had lost this thread too! The trails around Langdon-Cavalier were fun over Christmas/New Years, but I won't be up there this weekend to check on them. There's some off-trail fun to be had around Finley, but things get old fast in a hurry around there too, especially if every drift is getting pounded by 10-15 sleds. We hit things pretty hard the 26th and only had 5 sleds running over things and the drifts still got rounded off. Anyone else got any ideas?

Noone interested in a Central ND ride? Guess it will just be a RMK-KING, Quinlan and the_hog ride. Come on fellow North Dakotans its not that far from where you live. Quote originally posted by Quinlan
Well if that's the case...I vote we get to see the CMXMONSTERMOD fly off the freestyle ramp!

As long as you don't try to overshoot the landing like I tend to do the first time or two...you'll be fine.

I would love to go, I will have to see how much $$ I have, being laid off kinda puts a crimp on extra spending.

I was thinking about going to Casselton on Saturday for that snowmobile event. With all the nice snow in west central Minnesota I decided just to stay a little closer to home.

Me and the wife are going on Snow Jam, I'll have to see how the trails are! Hopefully they get them all groomed for it, it would be the first time this season I think.

I know a couple people mentioned the Minot area. It works fine for me...only a 40 mile drive from home. Justin (Vmax_600) would probably be there again...he knows the area more-so than anyone else. I've never ridden up there myself.
Any other opinions? Still open at this point...
