Hmm, well I guess around here we absolutly have to wait until frickin deer huntings over, and the way I understood it was that the DNR set that rule in place state wide, but perhaps that not true. If they can open the trails for you guys than Im definately pullin for ya, so if they open, you better bet out and ride them

Thats what I always thought the rule was too, but maybe Im wrong. I know that this year they have a lot more late-season deer hunts, so maybe that rule went out the window.
This year they have the late-season gun hunt from December 11-14 and you have the holiday hunt from December 24-January 4. I know that theres quite a few snowmobilers in the southern part of the state who arent very happy about the DNR having these late-season hunts because it cuts into our already short riding season.
Im not sure that Id want to be out in the woods riding my sled when you have crazy deer hunters out there flinging lead at anything that moves.
I wouldnt put it past any of them to take a shot at a snowmobiler who they think scared away a deer.

we got about 2. If there forcast is right we should be riding down here by monday night or tuesday. Hopefully all the signs will be in by then.

The trails CANNOT open and WILL not open until Dec. 14 at the earliest. If you go ripping around on the trails before than, you WILL get a trail closed. So please, dont ride until some sort of an official states that the trails are open.

The trails around here will be open if there is snow. Last year we were riding the first weekend in december. The trails wont get shut down. And this information is correct as I heard it at our snowmobile meeting last night.

It may and probably is different where your at but I know what im talking about

The county and clubs open and close the trails not the dnr. Unless it is on state/goverment land then is has a whole different set of rules.

I dont think so. Stay home, be patient and wait for them to groom the trails before you head up here.
It seems like every year we get a little snow and then everyone gets out and rides (even when the trails arent open) and after a few days the trails are bare again.
If people would be patient, the clubs would have a chance to get out and pack the trails down and the trails would be pretty good all year long.

Do you even know the guy..... It could happen look what happened up north a few years back. I know octane very well.
He does not hog the trail and moves over when it is safe to do so. He also won't ride the trials until they are officialy opened. You are way off base on your assumptions of him.

He is also a hunter.

They are forecasting 6-12" of snow over the course of tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday.
It should be interesting driving to work tomorrow morning. Snow on top of freezing rain always makes for an interesting commute.

Yeah, if the trails were open Id be half tempted to call in sick tomorrow. My guess is that with all the rain and sleet we are going to get they would be a sloppy mess even if they were open, so its off to work I go. Besides, I gotta pay for the Echo chainsaw and Sony VAIO laptop computer that I just bought. You know how it is, you gotta go to work every day if you wanna have all the cool toys...
Besides, half the people at my work probably wont even show up, so it will be an easy day anyways.

Sounds like its going to be an interesting day or two. Hopefully we get enough snow to ride. All we need here is about 4 to 6 inches of heavier snow and it sounds like we could get just that. Hopefully the rain/sleet/**** turns to snow soon although that may set up a nice bottom layer on our trails as it they shuldnt ever get to dirt as theyll have a layer of ice on it.

Our deer hunting ends Nov 30 trails open Dec 1st.
How much snow do you guys have in Wisconsin?

Its muzzloading season in MI and WI right now.

I am pretty sure in WI you have to wait until after the anterless hunt which ends this sunday, 12/14. Other wise there would be sleds going pat my house, I think. SE WI has enoughh snow to screw around now.
