thats wierd, our groomer has tracks on it full length, but its only used about twice a season, ya they groom them twice a season pretty lame when you pay 260$ for a trail permit, thats why i dont buy one.

If you use their trails than wow... Not like you would pay anyways. Your dad probably pays for it...

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers. Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other soldier. Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some. Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow. Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country. Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor. Rangers Lead The Way!.."All the way!" <<<<<1st Bat, 75th>>>>>

Remember, there's always someone with zero experience or knowledge who can always point you in the right direction. I love know-it-alls who are so quick to critisize.

He was referring to Joe Blow that "knows everything and can do anything" without ever actually trying it. Not BC Dan.

Kind of like the arm chair quarterbacks.

Because when you volunteer, people turn you away (especially if you aren't from this area)

You need to know someone who knows someone around here it seems. Even the guy that runs the motel here they tell him no, and he knows what he's doing.

Support? I called another groomer from south to come help him, I offered to get a few more people and try to tow him out, but he said no, he's waiting for his buddy.

Oh well...he didn't seem to happy to be out grooming all the "deep" snow we have here it seemed

PolarisHockey,
Next time I get stuck, I would GLADLY accept any offer from you to give me a hand! I'll even give you the long handle shovel With some of the hills we try to groom here, getting stuck is a way of life. I have yet to have a sled pass me by if I'm stopped and digging out without them stopping and offering to help.

Sometimes they don't even snicker (much )

That sucks, and im sure it was a pain to get out. Last year we were heading back to the cabin we were at, and coming down one of the trails around Gaylord that runs along a rode, cant remember the name of it. But we came out of the woods, and there was a groomer, i think a New Holland with tracks, but i cant remember, buried pretty good. If i remember correctly there was a slight bend, and it looked like he went straight into powder. We stopped and watched. We wouldve helped, but there was probably nothing we could do. But he went forward, backed up, floored it forward, backed up, forward again. He did that for a while, and keep making some headway. Finally he was able to climb out of his hole, and went on his way. We figured he was gonna have to get some help, but he was able to get it out.

wow ya i mow highways in the summer and the way he has that stuck one wheel in the air he wont b able to turn prolly evon had a hard time pulling it out that was a noob mistake he shoulda hit the brakes and he would have been able to back right out

Great thinking. Not. Hitting the brakes would have done nothing but make the rear end slide down even further. I would like to see that machine back up in a couple feet of powder with the groomer on back. Most of these guys are out doing this because they love it and want smooth trails for everyone, not because it pays good. I can't beleive people are ripping on a groomer because he got stuck. Grow up.

Our club pays our groomers. No volunteering....I think 10-12 bucks an hour. But they also run late at nights, middle of the night. During the busy times they will be out in the day. But our club I believe is the only club that grooms this county. So they go all night, most every night.
