Are you saying that the content of my posts does not meet your expectations for forum content? Are you saying that I receive negative ratings? What about my posts has offended you (or anyone) to get a negative rating? I post a lot here, hopefully sometimes someone is able to gain some useful information from my experience. I thought that was the point of the forum. Am I mistaken?
Please, enlighten me, so that I, too, may be educated.
By no means am i saying that i don't approve of your content (hence why you don't have a -1 )
it was more directed at the one who started this **** fest of a topic. the ones that are complaining the most are the ones that are getting negative ratings. guess what? if your getting -11 i doubt it's someone saying "well i think he deserves a minus rating today"
i mean seriously come ON people. it's a ****ing NUMBER! if someone gives me a negative rating like hell if i will care about it. i am very opinionated (if you can't already tell) and i will have no issues at all telling you what i think of ya. your a good guy, i like ya. you contribute quite a bit to the site. which is a breath of fresh air considering the common topics that float around here..
like:
"Which risers are the best?"
"will these handgards make my sled look better?"
"Which exhaust is louder"
"Which sled should i trade mine for now?"
in closing.. SHUT THE **** UP ABOUT THE DAMN SYSTEM AND LEARN TO DEAL WITH IT.

you know what i tend to find?
the people who are bitching about it tend to get the - ratings...
Maybe that should be telling you something about the content of your posts? just a thought...
thats pretty stupid to say. i don't get many negative ratings (you will give me one for this post though). I just think the + and - system takes away from what this site is supposed to be about, people talking and discussing something we all love. Turns it into a big fag party where little boys are trying to see who can bitchslap each other the hardest
You have the same freedom of speech that i do. you can call my statement stupid, but i stand by it. and no i wont give you a negative rating for some stupid comment like that cause i just don't operate that way. but i will call you a ****ing dumbass..
Tell me this. What has the system taken away? not like you CAN'T read the post/ just click "view blocked content.. WOW that was hard... what other brain busters you have for me today?
tell me what has the system taken away from the site? oh yeah that's right... NOTHING except the ability to bloc someone's post from having to continually look at it

I can't argue with that...I do get wound up. It's know-it-alls that get to me the worst. I've tried to tone it down.

^^^^^^^^ Your posts are good BC_Dan, you always contribute to the threads in a positive manner and you do know what you're talking about. I'll vouch for that. Quote originally posted by MX86 you know what i tend to find? the people who are bitching about it tend to get the - ratings... Maybe that should be telling you something about the content of your posts? just a thought... Yahtzeeeeeeeeeeee! I agree, except in regards to BC_Dan as I said above. My posts barely ever have a minus attached to them, I must be one of these "gods" you speak of? My question is this, do people rate my posts with a + because they like me or because my information is correct, informative and constructive? I tend to think it's because I have posted something they deem to be informative, constructive and correct. I don't agree with the people that rate posts with a - just for the sake of doing it, but as said many of those people have brought it on themselves. They consistently post incorrect, uninformative, and pretty much worthless posts, in which case I can see why people get sick of it, myself included. Although I don't give people - just to do it, I only do it if their post is incorrect. If you post bad info I will give you a - every time and you can bet I'm going to call you on it. The + and - was an absolutely great idea and it should be kept. Judging by Erick's post it will be kept and I'm glad.

Amen shortstop.
i hardly EVER use the rating system. i do have a few in my blocked users list, and i do rate some posts a - because simply for the fact that they contribute absolutely NOTHING.
if you don't like the way your getting rated, look at the content of your posts.. or like 90% of the rest of us, DON'T CARE! simple as that.

I don't come on this forum anymore just because of the lame-ass rating system and dictatorship. I lurk and see the dumb stuff that goes on and would love to chime in with the sheep... but it isn't worth it. Take the negative ratings away and let the power crazy mods wreak havoc on their realms to control the sheep. Most of us are opinionated and don't want some 20-year old kid who hasn't got off of his mama'a teat telling us what to say or do. Ratings suck because so many people just want to 'fit in' with everyone else. We were all CYI once in our lives... just think about it. Let them learn on their own, let the ratings go, and grow up. Who cares what others' here think.

What the hell is up with these threads people make?? Have people always done this or what? I havent been here long enough to know if the whiney little bitches do this all the time or it just started. i dont like getting negative ratings, but honestly, shut the up or get the hell out.. I like the rating system. It allows people to give a good rating and bad rating on info that is right and wrong. And the people that get tons of negative ratings, well thats not my problem. Pretty sure if they got a bunch of negative ratings there is obviously a good reason for it. Its not just one or two, its MULTIPLE so i gotta say it looks like they are deserved or bad info.

This topic has actually been a good discussion. +1 for all of you. I don't mind the rating system because I use it to try to figure out when a topic has gone over the deep end and needs a mod to look at it.

could we make the minus sing not red and not refer to it as a negative count? it just seems so, negative, how about a rating system that everyone gets a plus one just for posting, that way noone gets hurt feelings.

Yeah that would be perfect in this politically correct world we live in. We're just supposed to accept everyone for who they are, even if they're stupid. Everyone has to be equal or we'll hurt people's feelings, wahhhh, wahhhh.
