Ropes

Snowmobile tow rope

We each carry 2-3 maps on us in various locations

Flashlights

Spark plugs

Knife

I have inside my engine compartment on top of the oil, is a small compartment for emergency tools. Pull rope, wrenches, screw driver etc

I usually have some basic med supplies that I take out of my work bag in case we come across something...I'm thinking about making a small kit to store on the side or something though

I boondock with a tandem sleigh behind me. Cuts down on my mobility, but I'm prepared for most things that could befall me. When I get to a good riding venue, I sometimes park the sleighs in a safe place, and ride without them for awhile. Eventually, I start to feel naked without all my stuff, so I hook back up.

I want to,
But with the generator, the fuels, liquids, and all the other stuff listed along with the tow behind sled big enough to carry it all, he's talking about 1,000 pounds or better.
Skis, boots, poles, 2 novels.....

I'm calling BS

We had one of those all mulit-purpose tools, with a pliers, screw driver, and a tiny saw. That tiny saw came in handy when we got up in a tight trail that we were busting open and there was a fallen tree across it, saved a lot of headache.

Under the hood:

4 extra spark plugs
WPS bag for drying out goggles and gloves
One extra belt

In the Boss seat:
Philips screwdriver
flat head screwdriver
pliers
spark plug wrench
7/16 wrench
1/2 wrench
9/16 wrench
5/8 wrench
flashlight
one size smaller clutch weights
Team clutch belt removal tool
Various allen wrenches
another extra belt

In my HMK backpack:
water bladder
three extra baclavas(all of different weight and material)
extra pair of 509 goggles with various lense colors
Scott goggles with blue lenses
two pocket sized packages of kleenex's
first aid kit
collapsable cup for water
5 Twix candybars
large soup can with wax candle for light/heat
a bunch of heat packs
A one person thermal blanket
Large two person thermal blanket
waterproof matches in a camera film container
fire starting sticks
spare map of all the areas I ride
t-shirt
sweatshirt
GPS
knife in front pocket
compass in front pocket
shovel
probe
knife

in my pocket:
wallet with credit cards, cash, ID
cell phone with ICE numbers on it(In Case of Emergency) Also programmed into the phone is my Age, DoB, allergies, family doctor, etc.(This can be important for the EMT's if the situation is urgent and you are unable to talk or unconscious).
spare compass with thermometer and whistle

On me: beacon

Thermal blanket is a must, a guy that was riding with us last year broke his leg when he hit a rock and flew off the sled while boondocking off-trail. It took 3 hours for Search and Rescue to get there. We all put our coats and stuff on top of him but he said they weren't doing near as much good as the thermal blanket I had with me was.

People can say backpacks are gay or whatever they want but you can bet when their life depends on something and it's in your backpack they won't be calling it gay anymore. Would you rather be "gay" and alive or dead?

People can say backpacks are gay or whatever they want but you can bet when their life depends on something and it's in your backpack they won't be calling it gay anymore. Would you rather be "gay" and alive or dead?

I agree! I would love to buy a tekrider pack, just dont have the cash. So if I'm going for a somewhat decent long ride, I'll bring a pack. I usually end up dropping it off somewhere ( like my sisters bf's store ) because it strains my back, but the tekrider packs are supposedly unnoticeable
