so im driving down one of my home made trails , it is across private property (i have permission )and im almost at the end where i get gas i come around a corner , not fast and someone put up barb wire at neck height , tree to tree i saw it and bailed off the back of my sled , my sled and i am ok but who in there right f***in mind would do that i could have died thank god i was paying attention , i went and asked the property owner if they did it and he said no but one of his neighbors was getting mad because i was coming through there again not on the neighbors property , i asked the land owner if he would like me to stop going through there and he said no, and he said if he was to see the neighbor in that area he would have him charged for tresspassing .
I am a responsible person i never go through the trail before 10 am and i never go through there past 9 at night . what gives are people just that ignorant .

absolutly crazy, It's sad to say, but your's is not the first horror story I've heard. It's really sad that these wack jobs see one person do something wrong on a sled/atv and they label us all as bad apples and go to such extremes. Ride safe, who knows what this fool will try next

You'd think it would be something only crazies do.. but I'd like to say that the number of times I have encountered purposely set hazardous areas is not countable by fingers... Most non-snowmobiliers, usually the elderly, pull this kind of **** all the time. Dementia has set in and they don't understand they are risking someone's life by doing this. Its pathetic.
Epic.

I would defenitly get the police involved. Your not doing anything wrong and the police can go around and ask the neihbors if they saw anything. I'm sure it would scare the out of the hat who did it.

mackinsaw Thinks it's mighty convient for the neighbor to wait untill there's snow on the ground and to ask me if I would do him a massive favour and cut his firewood for the winter for money as he is incapable. Dang I got some work cut out for the next few days.

I would go to the guys house personally, tell him what he did could have killed you or someone you know. Then I'd tell him if I ever catch him so much as spitting on that trail I'd be back with a Fkin' baseball bat..

There have been many people killed by a wire like that, most of the time the people were not supposed to be on that land though. You are so lucky you noticed that wire, could have been very bad. I would definitely talk with the police about that

Thats crazy. All of our trails here are on the neighbors property, and every spring we ask for permission. So far they havent complained, but the newest neighbors dont really like it. But as far as im concerned, its not their land.Although they have called the cops on our bonfires at the neighbors twice for disturbing the peace, fireworks, and some other crap. All the cops have done is get mad at them, and told us we were fine and have fun. But at my great uncles farm down the road from our grandparents their is a big creek that runs along his property. A ton of people ride it, and we have a bunch. Well our cousins live upstream, and own one part of a bank of the creek. They keep saying people are riding through their creek(the creek is public property, the banks are private). They have put up spikes in their woods and on the banks, and have actually set in the creek with guns. Theyve held my brother and his friends at gunpoint a bunch of times, and called the cops on him. But they get in trouble because its not really theirs, and my brother isnt doing anything wrong. But we saw them at an auction this fall, and they bought a ATV. They hate and despise them and people who ride them, and yet buy one. But they are the odd ones in our family that we dont claim as family.

the stupid part is it was on a corner the thing i noticed first was the bark wore off the tree , i spoke to the landlord again on the phone and he said that had there been fresh tracks in the snow than he would have called the cops , but it was more than likely done a couple days ago when there was no snow , he told me if there is any other problems let me know ( they hate each other)

it is illegal to assemble anything that can inflict harm on another person. A neighbor here got tired of having his mailbox smashed so he cemented in a 10" diameter pole and filled the box with cement. The kids came back to smash and dash again with bats, and broke his arm. He sued the owner of the mailbox and won.
Turn this around on the guy immediately, and inform the police, otherwise it may be too late for someone who is not aware it is there!!
If that does not work, the old fashion method of bashing his skull in works for me!

Attempted murder is correct. If only it can be proved this person did it. A camera and a lot of patience is needed.
Time to take the silencer off and run a straight pipe. Your riding on private property so the trail laws shouldn't apply. Just kidding, but would be fun.
