Any one in you area been on the trails before they open. Personaly I hate when people do that because they haven't been groomed yet so it just wrecks them. And you can get like a 110$ fine around here.

I guess here when the black hills got like 4 feet of snow a group from yankton went out and rode on them and pissed a bunch of people off as well as the GFP and the land owners. I wouldnt be suprised if they got some trails shut down.

Nope not at all

And having sleds on the trail prior to grooming is good in most cases. Packs the snow down and it makes it even better when the groomer comes through

Haven't seen anyone around on the trails, I hope to god not. But I see idiot kids on nice nice sleds running them in the ditches already. (We have barley over an inch of snow) Seen a Switchback 600 ripping up grass yesterday.

Some trails in Wisconsin opened Tuesday evening. No idea where Galesville is.

Nobody on our trails here yet, some tracks in private fields and such.

Our trails around here opened on the 1st, but twoards the end of November there was sleds going down them. What ticks me off is when the trails are groomed and the 4-wheelers start flying down them tearing em' up.

Trails are open when snow hits them around here. But we dont have to worry about riding on private property around here so early riding isnt really an issue.

I caught some people on the trails last year when they were closed. I followed the tracks in my truck on the road, seen their sleds parked, took pictures, turned them in.

High zoom cameras are great. People breaking the rules suck. Closes trails every year.

ive put 150 miles on this year already in northern illinois.not on the county trails though.my kids and i just ditch ride every chance we get.my opinion on this is if you made the investment of buying sleds, why not use em?i mean i will have em all apart next year any ways,so ill just buy more carbides and hyfax and get the most riding time out of my sleds!lets rippppppppppppppppp!

I touched the trails once, but with permission from the landowner. He owns 10 miles of trails, and tonight me and my girlfriend took the sled to the pit. I think I need some studs, we were doing 20, and I hit the brakes because they blocked off one of the side paths into the pit with a sand pile, and when we did it turned into a 180. I was all over the freakin place.

If you can't controll a sled at 20mph, studs or not, You do not belong on one.

The groomers usually go out just packing the snow without the drag. Riding prematurely is usually by those who don't care and rip up the trails before they're ready. Causing twice the time to get the trails in shape for serious riding. I call them inconsiderate AH's

HA!!! Grooming I dont even think they are gonna be grooming the ONE trail they groom around my area. The bridge is blocked off so the groomer cant get through so I guess we dont get the luxeries of groomed trails but we get to paying thier f*cking prices for a sticker so we dont get charged. How the f*ck is that fair? Sorry just ticked becuase they have done dick all here and we have about 2-3 feet of snow already. Plenty of snow to groom. But that isnt stopping people from riding the trail. We now have to make our own trails.

If you cant fix it with duct tape, tylnol, or band aids your screwed.

No, the sled is nose heavy, and if you turn the slightest bit with the brakes on, or while powering it up, the back end, since its glare ice with 2" of snow/sleet on top, your in for a slide.

So, what you are saying is that you can't controll it?

Even at 20 you would not slide. It would do maybe a 10 degree turn. Not a complete 180.

I feel your pain, with that amount of snow. If they don't bother to groom your trails after being paid to do so, F**K them and just ride.

WE are pretty lucky in MI the trail are kept up pretty well. My aunt is one of the groomers, and she is out 6 days a week grooming. We do have a few people riding before they are open, but it is useally not a major problem...

The way i look at it up here in Ontario is, if we pay $230 for a trail sticker, Say around $200 for insurance and $35 for a registration sticker then i am going to use my sled. I'm just starting to do volunteer work now, and if people want to go out and risk their sleds to ride on some trails, by all means let them. If anything this is good for our swamps up here, and give them a better chance of freezing. The more people get out and pack them down, the less time your club is going to have to spend packing them themselves.

Before I continue, if I don't keep this sled for the whole season, I promise to never sign on to Snowmobile Fanatics again.

A little extreme IMO

I'm lucky if I see the groomer once a year around here. The club around St. Michael does an OK job keeping things marked and clean but it baffles me that they're not out the second we get a good foot. It would make the snow last longer and we'd see our donations put to use. It irks me when I drive by that groomer all season and it hasn't moved an inch.
