So I go to move my sled around the house today to bring it into the garage, because of an ice storm ( the reason I haven't been on today, power outage ) and I was going to clean it up and what-not. Well, I come around down to the dirt road ( which has a little mud on it ), and I noticed my steering ability ( I was doing 4 or 5mph ) was no longer there, so I figured it had ice in the steering system, so I got off, and I lost my breath. Just lost it. I could barley speak. My lower a-arm was twisted, and my spindle was bent around backwards. Where the a-arm mounts to, about 2" from there, it had snapped in half. I then look closer, and noticed my upper a-arm has a crack in it, so I checked the other side of the sled, AND IT'S JUST ABOUT READY TO BREAK AS WELL! I have under 30 miles on the sled since I've owned it, and have not hit any big jumps with it or anything, and have not had any accidents with it, and my left side lower a-arm is ! The rod that comes up through the shock is bent horribly at the bottom. I'm not quite sure what to say. I'm not getting rid of the sled, but I am in shock as to how, or why it happened. I am so glad I was going slow when it happened, or it would have just destroyed me.

Um, it must have had cracks in the a-arms all around, because the fractures on all the other arms are showing rust. I just can't figure out HOW it happened.

I called it, that just made my night. Thats karma for all your stupid posts. Please post pictures.
But seriously, talk to that dealer you bought it from. Someone may have noticed the cracks before and repainted the A-arms to get rid of the sled. I honestly don't think you are capable of being at fault for that, go raise some hell at that dealership..

The owner of the dealership just happens to be on vacation right now. But, I'm sure it won't cost me anymore than $150 in parts through him ( Scott at als snowmobile ). And he knows that if he doesn't help us out, he'll lose on of his more frequent customers. All I think I really need is a shock rod and a lower a-arm, new for the a-arm is $120, and new for the shock rod is $80, so I'll go with used parts, so $60 and $40 we'll say, plus a shock rebuild. Then my dads friend will heli-arc weld the other fractures for free.

Personally, I would stay away from welding suspension parts but that is just me. Good luck with repairs

^ Why January you ask? Because that's when the next welfare cheque rolls on in! Nah that's kinda rude but whatever. Honestly though i agree with mackinsaw, take it to the dealer and raise some ****. Could have been seriously hurt. Damn.

My dad doesn't buy everything. Why dont you use the search function and read up on how I got it before making judgments. Sure, he helped me get it, but he sure as hell didn't pay for all of it, or even most of it.

The lower a-arms on the fusions are known to bend. Mine was a bit tweaked but it didn't mess anything up. I've seen alot of people on various sites that their a-arms have been tweaked so I'm not too surprised but man, your situation sounds pretty bad. Show some pics.

And you wanted an 05 fusion why?
I wonder if it has anything to do with you trying to carve it in no snow conditions, throwing it back over on its skis, jumping it in mud, dirt and everything else.
Big shocker you wrecked this already. Everyone told you long ago when you posted that ridiculous video you would wreck that sled. Congrats you finally did what you were told.

You are so cool Sally. I think that your jealous because your sled is f'n 20 years old. So what, he can deal, leave it alone.

its not in any way the dealers fault. You bought or traded for a used sled and what you got was a used sled with no warrenty. If your going to expect that if something breaks the dealer will fix it you have to buy a new sled or a warrenty.
