As some of you may recall I was selling my XLT SP with the hopes of updating to a newer, less powerful sled for my kids (11 and 13). Well the XLT sold a few weeks back for $1200. and with that and some cash I had set a side I picked up this 2004 Supersport for $2150. Sled has 48 studs, windshield bag, plastic skis of an 05 XC 800, and PERC. Sled is clean but needs a few cosmetic touch-ups before Christmas. I will need to do the following before Chrismas day...
* replace the front and rear bumpers as they are cracked and bent
respectivly
* replace about 12 studs, some are torn through and some are broken off
at the nut..by the way...anyone know how to remove thee broken ones?
When I put a wrench on the nut, what is left of the stud spins?
* replace the snow flap as it was chewed all to hell from the studs.
* replace the two rear reflectors as one is missing and one is cracked
in half.
* oh and I had to take hammer to the back of the tunnel where the snow flap mounts as it was bent inward to about 90-degrees compared the 45-degrees it should be at.

Other that than a nice bath, a coat of wax and red ribbon will do it! What do ya' all think? I'll have more pics later this is all I have right now.

nice find, sounds like its guna be alot of fun. in picture 4, that little sled up on that shelve is that remote controlled? if it is thats the coolest thing ive ever seen i wish i had one. haha

Bambi would have been a better and shorter movie if he was shot in the beginning with his mother

if a ride on lawn mower takes bumps better than your sled, its time to upgrade

Nice pick up. The supersport should prove to be a fun, reliable, comfortable sled for the kids to grow up on and have a blast riding. Those 550s have decent power for a fan too. This will be a Christmas they won't forget!

Did you use an allen wrench of the back side of the stud to stop it from spinning?

Whenever I have a worn stud that needs replacing, I take a cut off wheel or dremel and just cut it off.

Nice find though. The tail on those sleds, whenever the sleds track finds the back of the machine, always seems to bend that piece back. I know on the Gen II its replaceable, but not on the edge chassis.

You can replace those, we did it alot on sleds that we got in that have been rear ended. Take the seat of, drill out the rivits, find a parts sled to take one off of than rivit that on to your sled, easy fix.

Brp is wrong again.

Oh, I was told it wasn't replaceable on the Edge chassis.

Im sure it is, how else are they gona remove that piece to add a tunnel extension to extend the tracks?

Thats what I always wondered. I figured they just cut it and riveted the piece on .

Nice sled. Looks mean lol. Why does that piece above the tunnel come up anyways? Just from getting rear ended?

If you cant fix it with duct tape, tylnol, or band aids your screwed.

Your kids will have fun. When my brother was 15 he bought a 03 Supersport, it was a left over model. I think he got for 25-3500 brand new. That year reverse was optional, 04 i think it was standard. Good sleds, good motor, good suspension. Really a good sled, light, and has just enough power. But i dont know which one of us was luckier. He got dads old Ultra as his starter, and i got the Indy. I also like the looks of the 03, blue and yellow, and that 04.

nice pickup, will be great for the kids!

I'd personally take a grinder to the top half of those studs broken at the nut.

Ya' know...I didn't even look close enough to the other night at the backside of the stud. Looked again and saw the key hole for the allen wrench. Will have at them tonight. Thanks!

Yep little R/C. Pretty boring though but when CT only gets an inch or so of snow this is sometimes enought to scratch the itch. It is pretty slow (about 5mph. 12-volt rechargable. Kinda neet. If you go to www.skidoo.com you can find them, or call your dealer. The new ones reflect the new REV XP's complete with the rider!

Spent nearly 4 hours in the garage last night cleaning up the new ride for Christmas. Waxed the hood and tunnel, installed the new snowflap, cleaned and shined up the engine compartment plastics and bellyban, and polished the belt cover.

Tonight the pipe and can gets painted, the new carbon fiber bumpers get installed, and a nice big red bow and ribbon will be affixed to the hood/windshield I'll have some pics from Christmas morning.

ha ha ha Actually Glen this will be my kids new ride. I am still riding my Blizzard! How is MN stacking up this winter? Did you decide to ride this year? I thought I might have read somewhere on here that you were thinking of getting out of the sport.
