My buddy has a 2005 XC600 with about 1500 miles on it. Last year when he put it away everything was fine. This year when he took it out for the first ride, the primary would'nt open up until the RPM's got up to about 6000 then it slams closed and the sled stalls. You then have to pull it over until the clutch pops open again and you can start it. Once it does this the first time (or two) it seems to be OK for to ride until it sits for a while. Any ideas where we should start? Something is sticking but I dont know what.

Thanks,

Sounds like you need to start by taking both clutches off and cleaning them, then put back together and back on. Did he by chance blow or eat a belt sinse he has owned it? Belt shavings are the worse for clutches.
