Yep, id say leave it. Dads 700 has 10 or 11k, and it still runs like new. Never had to fix anything on the engine. You cant beat the old sleds.

I sold my '95 XLT with 12,6xx miles and my '92 440 has over 13k. I wouldn't rebuild it, unless you suspect a problem. Do a compression test. Both mine were 120+ psi in all cylinders.

My wife's 94 XLT has around 6700 miles and still going strong. In all the years we've had this sled I've never had to fix anything- just the normal wear items: belts, slides, wear rods. The quality built into those old machines is so superior to what they're putting out today. I don't think you will see many new sleds driving around 15 years from now with ZERO problems- heck, some of them barely make it 5 miles down the trail without something breaking, burning up or falling off!

Awesome, and people say the xlt's were time bombs.haha We have 7,000 trouble free miles on our 95 xlt sp. Great sled, we also had a 95 xcr with 6,000 trouble free miles. The old triples are bullet proof stock. I would leave it alone like many said above.

"Who cares about triples, I could hit myself in the face with a frying pan and feel just as good as riding 10 miles on xtra 10." hahaha

Ive got 10K on my ultra and it still has factory compression and factory spec crank end play. So, i guess if it still runs like a top, and it meets atleast those two spec's, I sure as hell wouldnt touch it. Plus i feel the same as raptor, at the point of 10k miles, you might as well just see how many miles it takes to kill that beast.

Well we got 23,000 miles out of our Ultra between 1999 and 2007 and it was still going. Compression was down a bit and it was starting to idle/run funny so we freshened it up with 3 new pistons and rings and sold it for $2000. They go forever!

my 96 ultra 12600 miles on it and I have put on 2400 miles on since I have gotten it. I love the sled and I have put new shocks on the front and the rear. Other than that it works like a champ! Leave it if you are doing normal maintenance to the sled.
