Its basically about suicide, and it has gotten me thinking about it (like actually doin it). Well there probally a whole bunch of you guys or girls out there that have this problem. How do you get away from it? What makes you feel happy, and get away from depression? I just cant find away right now, or any more. Please post some thing, I need help!!

Hey Tyler -
You're right, there are a lot of people that get depressed this time of the year. Best thing to do is to keep yourself busy, get out and do some riding, get some fresh air and sun. A lack of sunshine has a lot to do with people feeling down in the dumps.
If you are serious about the book you just finsihed reading, then you really do need to go get some professional help. I had a close friend commit suicide when he was about your age, it is a very permanant solution to a very temporary problem. Have you talked with your parents about your situation?
Here are a couple of phone numbers for you:
St. James Medical Center 507-375-3261
St. James Police Dept 507-375-3222 or 911
The Police Dept can place you on what is called a 72 hour hold where they will take you any time of the day or night to see a mental health doctor. You being in St. James, the nearest mental health doctor will probalby be New Ulm, Mankato, or Worthington.
Post up in a day or so and let us know how you are doing. Take care.

Regardless of the BS that people like Tom Cruise states, depression is often something that you need outside help with. The problem is that most people are afraid to get help until its too late. From what I've been told by doctors it can happen and you don't even know it but there is a chemical imbalance in your brain and drugs are needed for help.
Regardless of what you think, talking to a doctor is usually the best decision you can make. Often times they are willing to hook you up with a couple of weeks of antidepressant samples. Even if it's for a placebo effect, it can't hurt to try them.
Your not the first person to experience it and won't be the last. I'm not afraid to admit it, I've been depressed and I needed someone to talk too. You won't regret getting help, the faster you realize it, the sooner you will be back to your old happy self.

That would be me, only thing is this kid dont have stuff to ride legal around, so he doesnt really want to go far it sounds like. But honestly, im not legal at this point either. I only ride ditches, so its not a real big deal. I would have my snowmobile safety thing rihgt now but i dont have a printer.
O ya but i guess i dont really have a group, but ive been trying to get him to go riding, im gona see if he wants to go after christmas.

If you are truly depressed then you need to get professional help.
My advice to start with.
-If you don't get enough sleep on a consistent basis then get into a pattern and get a solid 8 hrs a day.
-If you drink energy drinks then stop it right now, they do effect your thinking in a negative way.
-If you listen to intense hardrock then get away from it.
-Get exercise. Don't sit around doing nothing, it gives you too much time to think about how bad you are feeling and it just feeds on itself.
Take it from someone that has been fighting it since 7 yrs old. It got worse for me when I was in the early teens and looking back on it it didn't need to be so bad if I had taken better care of myself.
The first thing you need to do is stay active, get out and ride, help a neighbor, get around people and activity.
Second - Get the sleep you need, eat right, don't drink a bunch of caffeine. Your body and mind needs basics to operate properly. Red bullshi** doesn't revitalize the body and mind, it blocks proper thinking with chemicals and then leaves you with an aftereffect that is similar to depression.
Third - Go a doctors office and ask for a brochure on depression and read up on it. Look it up on the net and learn.
Fourth - Sometimes the symptoms can go away with a change in life habits. If you know you can be taking better physical care of yourself then start doing it (this includes getting ride of music that gets your blood pumping by making you think about anger and depression). If the symptoms do not ease or go away after changing your life style then GET TO A DOCTOR!
If you do have a problem then you are doing the right thing by recognizing it, admitting it and asking for help with it.
Some guys on here have said to PM them. DO IT! MANY of us have dealt with or are dealing with depression. There is a lot of good advice out there. Don't be a tough guy and ignore it.
96 xlt sks/rmk. custom 5.5 inch riser on the bars, custom air intake, custom front shock mounts, custom oil feed channel in block to inner pto end bearing, primer (I hate chokes), custom = I made it myself

Please talk with your primary doctor and he should be able to get you pointed in the right direction and set you up with a mental health professional who can diagnose and treat you. You have taken a great first step by just reaching out on this forum. don't let it stop there. THERE IS HELP OUT THERE!! Don't ever think that you can't make it through anything in life.

Hey man, been through the same thing quite a while ago. One thing I will tell you is that everything gets better. You could feel like you've hit bottom but when you're there, things can only go up.
The worst thing to think is that you're the only one with these feelings. Talk to your friends about it, or talk to a teacher you trust. Anyone that has any interest in your well being will be more than willing to discuss anything that is troubling you. School psychologists or counselors are a good resource too.
I hated high school and my teenage years. They sucked, honestly, I wouldn't wish my experience on my worst enemy. I was never happy, but I will say I am one of the more satisfied and happier people that I know now.
A quote my father uses all the time, which is a little harsh, but very true: "Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem." He has lost relatives to it and I know people who have lost brothers and sisters to it. All they can say is "I wish he would have talked to me."
Just remember, there are people there to help you, and it doesn't matter who you talk to. Talk to someone, let them know how you're feeling. Don't ever think you're alone.
Then, of course, you have all of us on the forum.

Try to see all the good things you have....Your health is a big one. You have a roof over your had and food in your belly. There are hundreds of families in MN right now wondering where there next meal is coming from. Some of these people are those that were donating a year or two ago.
We all go through tough times....The real men learn from them and become stronger.
