you have to remember that depression isnt something you just decide to get rid of, alot of times there are chemical problems, not drugs but in your body chemical problems, even if it is from a physical abuse or worldly pain like loosing people or just having the world crap on you. the only way you can fix depression is to seek help from a therapist and doctor, drugs help, but what we have seen is that even the best drugs and not seeking help is not a good cure, more of a coping method.
stay away from trash books, go for the true life feel good books.
watch the movie conversations with god, aint going to cure you, just make you cry and feel good for 2 hours.
look for inspiring books and movies.
nothing goes like 3 holes!!

This is one of my favorite little prayer/ reflections that I think is a great reminder to us as we try to cope with the challenges that we face in our lives. Some of you may be aware that this is a cornerstone to AA and certain other programs. I found this among some reflections on how to help people in a time of struggle. I recognize that not everyone is religious or spiritual, but I think that this still speaks to many people even without the religious references.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Think of it this way...
If you broke your arm riding your sled... wouldnt you go seek help?
Same with this, you need help... so ask for help from people that know what to do.. Same thing.
Take Care

Tyler -
I forgot to mention. There is a huge amount of people that are being treated for depression in this nation.
I'm not saying this to make you feel like your problem isn't important. I trying to show you that you are not alone.
Depression is most often a chemical problem and can be dealt with with medication. Sometimes the symptoms are temporary and need a short time with meds and some counseling to get things under control.
The chemical imbalance the body has can be permanent sometimes, like it is for me, and requires medication all the time. I thank God my depression isn't severe and is, for the most part, easily managed.
One thing to remember is that things will improve. Depression can get a-hold of you and start to make you think you have more problems than you really do. This is why I said you should stay busy, don't give your mind time to wander and make up problems. THINGS WILL GET BETTER.
Half of my battle to get things under control was to ignore my own thoughts of self doubt and worthlessness and see the reality of where I was in life. Once I could "block" the negative thoughts I saw things weren't so bad and then was able to get a handle on things. This is where short term use of medication can come into play and help many with mild depression.
Anyone that tells you to "toughen up" or "just deal with it" isn't worth listening to. I had too many people give me that answer when I was dealing with things and as time has passed I have seen each one of them fail in their "toughness" and ask me for help with their problems.
The sun will rise tomorrow. The world is not coming to an end. Things will get better. You are not alone.

Quote originally posted by flatlander_summit Quote originally posted by wiguy05 Quote originally posted by snowmobilenubes Hi!! Well it's a horrible feeling, and a lot of people have it. Depression. It does seriously hurt everyone, and everywere, but i dont want it too. I dont know how it started, just at random i get really depressed just for no reason. Plus to make it worse, I had just finished reading this book and its called "Thirteen Reasons Why". Its basically about suicide, and it has gotten me thinking about it (like actually doin it). Well there probally a whole bunch of you guys or girls out there that have this problem. How do you get away from it? What makes you feel happy, and get away from depression? I just cant find away right now, or any more. Please post some thing, I need help!! Quit being a p*ssy and grow up. You once again have proved that you are nothing more than a heartless piece of white trash . All we can do is hope that you one day see the light and grow up a little bit. Tyler, If you need help there is no shame in going to see a specialist that can give you the help you need. You have a big support group here as well. You're young, you have everything in the world to look forward to. Enjoy the Christmas, New Years, and the rest of your break. Get out and have fun with friends. Right now, things that seem like they a big deal will be something that you will laugh at in the future. She's hot don't let life get you down man, cuz nobody likes a guy that's bumed out all the time. When I get down I go hag at a friends, look at a mag and dream of things I don't have and try to skeem up new plans to buy toys I don't need. Everything is more fun if your having fun from the get go, no sh*t man. It's easy to look at the sh*ty side of everything, it takes a more to see it but work around it and keep it out of your head
What's your problem? RUFWM?

What difference does this make? Does it really matter? If most people would stop wearing blinders, there would be a lot less... I'll stop here.
