arctic_cat_man1 if only it were 15 degrees colder, it would be snow instead of mist.

I threw on a new track on my zr 600 a month ago. it now has a loss of power and won't hit the max rpm, anyone know a rough estimate on how tight the chain should be in the chaincase??? i think i might have it to tight and it's working against me.

Thanks

With all the slack on the long side, you should have maybe a 1/2" deflection. Should equate to about finger tight on the tensioner or there abouts.

as long as you didn't mess with the tensioner or re gear it should be the same. you rpm is use is coming from somewhere else. It should just have barley anything at all.

tighten the chain as tight as you can by HAND and the the back it off a quarter turn. That is the rule almost all manuals go by and that is what your local dealer will tell you also.
