Why would someone steal your extra belt under the hood?

people are stealing everything...I have a bag on my Dragon that mounts on the back of the sled. I've heard people are going after those now. Not only are they getting the 70 dollar bag, they're getting all the tools and what not that you have in them. I take mine off now if I'm at a place were I can't see my sled from inside.

People will steal whatever they need, when they need it. I knew a guy that went to his car one morning only to find a cracked windshield. He had a good look and it turns out it wasnt his windshield at all. In the middle of the night someone removed his, and put their cracked windshield back in its place.

That's the nicest thief I've ever heard of. What a gentleman to replace the one they took.LOL

That's crazy. I know someone who had a car for sale on his front lawn(mind you this is Maine, not the ghetto) and during the night someone jacked it up and stole all his tires, and left it on blocks.

There is no reason to steal anything. We can only hope he did it because it was the only way he could get home. I hope.

I was reading on one forum where a guy had left his truck at a bar with the keys above the visor because he had alittle to much to drink and walked home, next morning he went back and it was gone. Later that day the cops found his truck wrecked and upside down somewhere and insurance wasn't going to cover it because he left the keys in it. I don't remember how it turned out, but I would think twice about even leaving a door unlocked..

I stole your belt! I need one every 50 miles for my 900SB.
Just jokes. That sucks man! If its not locked down, say goodbye to it!
I've had many experiences with theives. I had to weld a chain to all 4 of my ski tie down bars on my 4place trailer. I also welded hinges on the front ramps and put a padlock on my rear ramp.

Whats the thing called lowjack or something where its tracked by GPS. Not very practical for a belt but it would be nice to throw something like that on your sled. Until the thieves realize its on there and disable it right away.

The whole windshield thing is funny as hell. At least he replaced it! But my mothers former boss was taking in a $20,000 deposit to the bank. He left it in the glove box went in to do some shopping at Wal-Mart came back out his side window was smashed. Checked the glove box to see the money still there but the guys took everything out of the doors and the ATV on the back had a whole bunch of marks and the ignition smashed out. Retards if they would have checked the glove box would have been able to buy a brand new ATV. This was in the middle of the day at Wal-Mart (which is a busy place). Goes to show that any place you go people will try to steal your stuff.
If you cant fix it with duct tape, tylnol, or band aids your screwed.

Since everyone else is swapping stories...
This summer a friend of mine had some people over to his garage for a couple drinks. He went in around 2am, and there were still a few guys hanging out in the garage. The last guy left around 5am and the car was till there. When he went out at 8am his car was gone. Our friends are notorious about pulling pranks like that so he didnt panic til the cops showed up at his door a few hours later. They showed him some pics of totally burnt out shell of a car found 50 miles away and asked him if those were his liscence plates on the car.
This is a rural community where that sht just don't happen.
Sooo...Who knows why people steal stuff?

We have a GPS Satalite tracking system at work in our fleet of trucks. A driver of ours stopped for coffee, left his door unlocked and when her returned his Nextel was gone. When he got back into dispatch he reported the theft, the police were called and given one of out Nextels with the same GPS tracking systems well. We were able to see the stolen phone moving on the scren at dispatch. We were also able to see the officer and the phone we gave him moving. Eventually the stolen phone stopped at a residence. We gave the officer directions to where the phone was, he knocked on the door and an elderly gentlemen anwered. The cop told him he had a report of a stolen cell phone at this residence and the elderly gentlemen told the cop to wait a moment while he got his grandson. Busted!!!! LOL

this is the reason my sleds are insured and i carry a HEAVY duty cable and lock. we pull our sleds up until the front bumper meets the back bumper and then run the cable through the suspension of one sled and through the track of the other. if they really want it they would find a way to take it but this makes it difficult so hopefully the thieves will leave it be. We also lock the sleds together and run it through the drive off ramps when we are trailering them. next thing you know they will be stealing windshield bags and the spare quart of oil and plugs from the storage in the seat. someday

That sucks that some jerk would steal your spare belt!
Well now that the Browns season is over I guess I can tell this story. I have a freind that lives in southern Ohio. He went to a mall and accidentally left two tickets to a Bengals game on the dash. Someone smashed the window out, took the tickets, and left four tickets to a Browns game!

Last year we were on a snowmobile trip in Larimie WY. We drove the whole day and we got a motel and slept in Larimie that night. We woke up and went outside to head up to the mountain and the box of my cousins pickup was empty. During the night someone stole all there food and gas. Luckly they left there sleds alone and didn't touch our truck and sleds. They had a couple gas cans and a big cooler stuffed full with food all stolen. We reported it it, but the chances of them finding that is pretty slim. We all pitched in to help them replace the gas and food.
The cop we talked to said people are always stealing stuff like this. They said we were really lucky that we still had our sleds and trailers.

Heck I have read where a truck will pull in with a 4 place trailer park for the night, come out the next morning the whole works is gone.
Truck, trailer and 4 sleds...$$$$$$$$
Thats why some hotels have a fenced in area for sleders, and cameras.
