I know it should be the same but if you want to keep one and cut one up that would be the purpose.
Wont need another 700 pipe even if i cut this one up, if you didnt see my thread im parting that 98 out. Was gona sell the engine too til my clutch blew up on the 440 which i think also messed the engine up. So, this is the project now haha

you should talk to eric about cutting up the pipe. If i remeber he was doing it on his mod sled to get the pipe to fit in there. idk how hard it is but maybe he can help you out.

I was thinking that a 670 pipe might work too. Either a 670 off a standard mxz, or a 700 off a zx chassis. I can fit a zx chassis pipe in there fairly easy, i think. BUT the thing is the recoil housing might be in the way, other than that i could prolly bolt it to stock location.

Yep, keep an eye on it as at this point it sounds this should reall go through. I sure hope so.

Ya i saw that, ill PM him. Madcow is willing to help me, only thing is he is quite a ways away and i dont really have a way to get the sled let alone myself up there. I may have an idea tho.

Not much done yet! Right now i just found i can prolly cut my motor plates myeslf at home, gona work on it right now! Last night i went to a friends house, couldnt find anything to cut it, went to a metal shop but were closed. O well, might be able to do it myself right now. Gona be a while to get it mounted, i want this thing to be perfect before i start drilling holes or anything..

The engine is now bolted into the sled, i might wait til the plates are welded together to start it up tho, still got tons of stuff to do. The motor plates are just bolted together for now, i gotta wait to get it welded. So far it looks like its coming together decent, my motor plates and stuff arent perfect, but should be good enough as long as its straight, and strong, which it should be very strong.

I know my motor mount set up isnt the prettiest thing, but it should work out fine, i sure hope so atleast. Well here are some pics of the thing bolted in.
This little thing right here, bearing housing thing, it had a long triangle looking thing part on it for the 440 torque stop, i cut it off with a grinder so its just circle, so i can fit my new torque stop in there. You can see what part was cut off, since its cleaner where it was.
Torque stop off another polaris, not sure what sled, but seems to fit in there just right.
Plenty of carb clearance, looks about perfect actually. Well more than i first suspected to have between the steering post.

Thanks for the comments guys!!!
Trust me, if i had a place and way to clean it up i would. Its just too cold, and my garage doesnt have drains or anything, so i gotta get by with how it is. I had it cleaned up real nice this summer tho, sure got dirty pretty quick.
I dont think i need to see the 700 anymore, but maybe. Im getting twin SLP pipes, i kinda doubt they will fit, but im getting them anyways. I just really hope i can make them fit. Here are a couple pics of how clean i had it this summer, not perfect but pretty nice to work on when this clean.

I wouldn't bother with twin pipes or the air box. There are a couple reasons for this.
1. I can't see why twin pipes for a Polaris would fit in the ZX chassis any better than a single pipe for a Polaris would. 2.Don't use a Skidoo pipe setup, it isn't designed for that motor. It doesn't matter if the pipe physically fits. It isn't designed for the motor plain and simple. There is a lot of "science" that goes into pipe building. Your displacement, cylinder volume, port volume, crank case volume all play a factor in why your pipe is the shape that it is. Have your y pipe cut and angled towards the clutch side so your Polaris pipe will mount up. You may have to have the flange cut and angled on the Polaris pipe as well, but figure out where the pipe will fit and bring your parts to a reputable welder. Far cheaper than twin pipes and you aren't screwing with the wrong pipe on the wrong motor. 3. Airboxes are designed to resonate air. It isn't as simple as allowing air to the motor, although the motor will run with that airbox, it could be restricting the motor or maybe even lean it out. Chuck the airbox, buy some UNI filters with K&N outerwears. Jet to your filters and be done with it. So much more room without the airbox and you'll be able to better see things under your hood. It doesn't do much good to swap a Polaris motor into a ZX chassis because your motor popped if you're going to half ass swap parts from a Skidoo that are designed to run with a Polaris motor. I applaud your efforts and hope you can pull this off, but it is fruitless if you're just going to blow the Polaris up too!

Im thinking the twin pipes due to the chambers are alot smaller around, so they dont sit quite as high as the huge stock pipe. I know the skidoo pipe isnt designed for my polaris, i was thinking i could maybe make it work, i would just run it and see how it runs, check plugs and all that.. But im hoping the twins will work.
I may or may not try the air box, ill prolly get some filters, its not that hard to just check the plugs and see if its running fine with the air box, right? Im hoping the filters arent gona be spendy. Right now i have a little cash to spend on it, but gona wait on things like that til i know its good to go, gona get it running first.

Keep up the good work, the PooDoo is looking nice.
I'm impressed with how much work you have done, you have been learning alot.
have your friends dad weld up the exhaust while he's doing other welding for you.
Do you have heat in that garage???
Good Luck.

Thanks. Well not so great news, turns out his dad didnt actually have the aluminum welding stuff. He was going to borrow it or something, and apparently now he cant. But he told me where i can go and have it welded. So i hope its not too much to get it welded up. Not always heated, but got a wood stove for when im doing some longer work out there for a while.
