Thanks. I got some pics with the junker hood on it, it looks really crappy with the hood, but ill post them anyways i guess haha.. If i end up keeping the set up, which i most likely will, im going to be trying to refit the pipes to the chassis this summer to make a stock uncut hood fit, which i still have my good hood. It would look better if i got all the paint off, repainted it and painted the pipes. Ill paint the pipes if i get them refit, either way they will get painted sooner or later.

Thanks. I like them both too. No the rmk is stock, did not do anything to it. I personally hate the front end of a sled real high, which is the main reason i parted out the 98 xc 700, real high front end and real low rear, felt weird. The rmk has a good feel tho, its set up right for my liking.

What year is it? You might be able to put just slightly longer shocks in front, not much longer at all tho. Also spindles off a 98 or so sled will raise it, i sold my spindles off my 98 xc 700 to a guy with an xlt, he needed them to raise the front to match the xtra 10 rear he put in it.

My 97 polaris sport has the xtra 10 rear suspension in it, the shocks went to hell and i put in (for temporary til i get better ones) some shocks off a yamaha blaster, yes a quad haha.. They were a little longer but work fine for now, and they just barely fit in there. It made it just slightly higher but not much.

These are the only pics i can find right now, but this is the stock shocks for it

And you cant see from the side, but i think you can tell its slightly higher, wtih those shocks i put on it.

Yep i bought the hood just for that reason, as to not cut up my perfectly fine stock hood. Hey 10 bucks on a junker hood to cut, or cut my nice hood up. Ill spend the 10 bucks for now haha.. I cant wait to get it totally finished too, and get the uncut hood on it. Yes it rips good, even tho i havent got to ride it very much, and doesnt look like i will get to anymore til next year.

Well f*ck it i might just take it out, we had NO snow, it just snowed i dono how much its still blowing, not enought to do any real riding but i wana test it out again haha

As far as that hood goes, some people like the look of teared vinyl. Haha.

I think the cut hood would look great if the pipes where black and the hood was all black or all yellow makes it look mean with the hood cut for pipes

True, if it was nice and cleaned up it would prolly look cool. Im still going to try and refit them this summer tho, they stock out way too far. Also im afraid that if i roll it or tip it on its side, it could dent the pipes up. Those pipes are so light and thin.

its a 1990, it would look sweet jacked up, but i think it might be the weak old STOCK shocks in it. haha.

Either way the older ones are quite a bit lower than the xtra 10 setups. You could change that if you wanted to throw the money into it, but prolly not worth it really.

Here are some pics, i was checking some fitment of the pipes the other day. Just to see how they could fit, what i would have to do and how much. It looks like i can fit the pto side pipe fairly easy to where i need it, but the mag side will be a bit harder, and more cutting and what not i think, Im really not sure how that one is going to work out yet.

This is about where that pipe will sit, i think the rear of the pipe might need to be angled down some tho. We will see later i guess.

Here are the pics! Haha.. I found the ones i took. Obviously the pink springed shocks are the stock ones, you can see they are junk and FROZE, which is why i had to put yamaha blaster shocks on it for a temporary fix. I think the longer of the pink ones was almost fully extended, so the blaster shocks were a little longer, just barely fit in there.

Westman,
Nice job sofar, I too am doing an engine swap, but it's a poo into a poo...lol
Took my 91 Indy and pulled the 488 fuji and dropped in a 98 xc 600 with 700 cylinders. I too had problems with the mag side carb running in line with the steering shaft. I ended up cutting the back of the airbox to clear for the steering shaft and putting foam filter material in the cutout.i had to cut out my torque brace out too, but I haven't put it back in yet. I think I may steal your idea, looks like it works well.

Thanks 500indy, yours looks nice and clean. I responded to your project thread. Its not hard to put in the torque arm, and it looks like yours is very similar to mine. You will have to trim that edge down and just drill some holes and rivet the torque arm plate on.
