There is rumored to be a new Polaris sled about to set the world on its ear. We have heard that it will be a late season release to be revealed possibly as early as this month. Does anyone have spy photos or information on this new sled?

Here's what I found, but no pictures yet
2010 POLARIS TEASER
(11/25/2008)
The interest in what Polaris has up its corporate sleeves for 2010 is becoming increasingly intense after dealers were teased with a milli-second snap of a new sled at last spring’s 2009 dealer show.
While nothing has been said (yet), we look for a new snowmobile comparable to Ski-Doo’s XP/XR platform.
This means new thinking in almost every area of the sled’s design and engineering.
Hopefully, Polaris will show something before the end of the season.

Snowmobile news
When Scott Swenson, the general manager for Polaris snowmobiles, stood in front of North America's snowmobile press corps in January to introduce the new 2009 Polaris snowmobile line-up, he got directly to the point. For next year, Polaris will reflect an expansion of the Shift line of 'value' models, increase the presence of the 800cc performance twin, and further refine all areas of production to insure the best quality products.
Surprisingly, he prefaced his remarks and introduction of the 2009 models by stating simply and emphatically that Polaris expects to make really big news with its 2010 line. There had been rumblings of some totally new sleds to come from Polaris, possibly for 2009, but Swenson's comments make it clear that 2010 is the target.
If we had to guess, Polaris is not going to chance a second 'Fusion' when it debuts its 2010 models and is paying close attention to getting it right. We'll go along with that, as we also think that Polaris may well introduce some 'firsts' for 2010. Among them may well be an industry-first anti-lock braking system, which would be a plus for performance riders and a safety feature for touring riders. But we'll have to wait it out like everyone else to see what this half-century old snowmobile company comes out with in 2010.

I think it was last months issue of Supertrax they had a small quick blurb about 2010 being a siginificant launch year for Polaris. Lets hope whatever it is it puts them back on top again.
Interesting note above about the ABS feature, I looked into fabbing up a system years ago for the major tech project report in my final year. Lack of funds was a problem there... I think it's well overdue, next thing will be ESP on a sled!

why would you say that? fusion?ha. or maybe an 800 twin that got lots of hype but had to be detuned because of rilability issue's. polaris doesnt have the best track record since 03, how many years have we had liquid cooled machines, and then to have overheat problems because they removed to much cooling for wieght savings.
or on the fst to route an oil line next to a belt?

If polaris builds anything like a REV its not really gonna be earth shattering, its just gonna be catching up!!
polaris37 we'll NEVER see another triple come out of polaris, too many sheep willing to believe whatever the propaganda department puts out!!
Polaris is too busy pleasing the share holders to give a tinkers damn about what its customers want!!
I'm not gonna hold my breath on anything earth shattering to come out of a company that thinks going BACKWARDS and building a monoblock is actually progress!!
The best we can hope for coming out of polaris might be a NEW fan cooled boogie wheel race sled to please the 13-17 year old wanna be racer customer base that polaris seems to catering too!!

Care to tell us how you really feel?
Careful, we are in the Polaris forum, LOL
Seems they all "take turns" so to speak, trying to come up with something
great and wonderful. sometimes they succeed, sometimes they have to start over.
IMO, an announcement like this, at this time of season, can't be good for
sales of the current model year.
For the sake of Polaris, I hope they do finally come up with a sled
thats competitive with AC's F7

I own 4 polaris' therefore that gives me the right!!
In my opinion DOO is the only one whos actually been making any progress! POO is back to building monoblocks, Yammi fooled some people for a while with the 4joke but now people have seen the light, and cat seems to want to build heavy sleds that fell from the ugly tree hitting every ugly branch on the way down before crashing face first into the ugly rock at the bottom, the first F-series were some mean looking sleds and then some boy wonder engineer who probably never even rode a sled came up with the butt ugly twin spar!! Ditching the F-7? Thats gonna be one of those Homer Simpson duhhhhh moves... Quote originally posted by 500Indy01

Well whatever it is knowing Polaris it won't be released until the snow has completly melted, and then only every other 3rd dealer will get one!!

I used to get a new polaris every other year, I quit when they had cooling issue's on the 03-04 models, any factory that cant keep enough cooling in a system for the average trail rider doesnt get my money.
they are just getting the iq dialed in nice and the motors are just getting dialed in. now they want to toss an all new revolutionary body into the world? dont sound smart to me. the best thing they could do is keep the iq and work on more engine options and better handling. maybe toss out a new body while keeping the current line up and see how it does?
the last few years of having the factorys use the consumer as the test dummy. polaris isnt the only one, ski doo and cat have been doing the same thing.

The guys at arctic cat just re-released the fire cat as a "Crossfire R". Available in an 800 or 1000. Same 128" track only 14" not 13.5" wide, same hood, same general weight. lol good idea for AC lol

Oh so narrow minded my friend. Think about how something like this could help all the retards keep their sled in a straight line instead of locking the whore up and going tits up in the rhubarb.

The Crossfire is nowhere near the same as the Firecat. Thats like saying the Apex is the same as the RX-1 because it has the same size track, weight, and similiar hp. A Crossfire hood will not fit a Firecat, neither will most other parts. The XF has a completely different rider forward position compared to the traditional sitdown Firecat.
The ABS seems like a good idea and they should put it on the trail/touring sleds as soon as they figure out all the other minor problems. All sled makers suck because they keep coming out with new stuff to break, when they still havent gotten some of the old stuff working right yet. For example hand warmers seem to be a recurring problem on every sled, no matter what color they are. Do we really want complex tech coming from companies that cant figure out a heating element.
I better stop before I end up saying what I really think about sled quality, or lackthereof.
