im thinkin of gettin some new bars for my ultra. i got a big bar riser so i can stand up all the time and need some more leverage. im thinkin pro tapers. my friend say some streight no bend bars. what do you think. i do mostly trail. a little bit of jumping. ditchbanging if you will.

What do yo mean by more leverage? Do you want more width so that you can turn the bars easier? I would say that a set of straight bars with hooks would do nicely. How high is your riser? You will lose some height with a straight bar setup.

I make sh!t out of crap

The biggest thing is to get the bars to where you have some leverage on the machine and a flatter bend than the Stock Polaris is much better.
I hate the thumbs down twist of the wrist in the bumps.

For ditch banging and jumping where ever possible through the trails,
about a 6 inch rise is nice.
It sounds like that is the type of riding you described any way.
6" will allow you to get up off the seat and back fast when you want to.

At that point you are looking at extended throttle and brake line.
The flat bars with a pivot riser work well and look really cool,
I carry the RSI taperwall bars. High quality stuff at a good price.
That's what I have on my Dragon, only 9 inches.
but the lesser expensive version for the 6" is to go with the Tag X-5 6 1/4inch riser bars.
They will mount right up to your stock mounts, pivot straight up where you want them,
and be MUCH better fealing than stock.

You can check out both versions at www.gravityworxracing.com
Let me know if you see something you like, and I'll put together a package deal for you.

i already have the riser set up. its either 6 or 7 inches total. i like it tall so i can stand up cuz my classic xtra 10 and my fat ass dont mix. so u guys are saying flat bars? a also agree with the twist of the wrist. my throttle pull is hard enough.

those rsi chromoly ones with the built in hooks look nice. how come they are backordered for o long?

I think RSI got hit with far more orders for them than they planned for.
They had to bring them in from Taiwan.
They got the flat 15 degree bars in now, but just not the race bend or the 10 degree.

Are your risers for 7/8" diameter bars or 1 1/8" diameter taperwalls?

I just measured a set of race bend Taperwalls,
Theyb are 30" from the outside of the hook to the outside of the other hook.
They are the same width as the chromo ones.
Evidently someone at Dennis Kirk needs to learn to read a tape measure. lol

The Tag bars come with a free bar pad, and the RSI Taperwall ones do to.
The chromollys do not, but I do have some in stock that we can do something with for you.

One thing I found out on my wedge with risers and straight bars, be careful if you want to add handguards, they may hit the backside of the hood when you open it.

Clutched

Homeade 7 1/2" riser
Homeade suspension drop brackets

So you stand up most of the time for trail riding? If you sit much 6" of rise might not be the funnest. I have about 5" of rise and its almost too high to comfortably sit and trail ride with.

I have the rsi chromoly bars with the built in hooks and they are great! The only problem is you have to get a different throttle block and i dont know much about ultras but you might have to get a new brake as well. This is because they might not be able to slide over the hooks. This is how mine looks

2005 900RMK 159" TRACK- SLP can, Race bend bars, Pivot Block, 7" Pivot raiser, RSI Mountain Bar, RSI Grips, RSI Hand Warmers, Powermad Throttle Block, Wilwood Brake Kit, Entended Throttle and Brake Lines, Custom Fabbed Controlls, Tether switch

Stock Ultra brake is a 2 piece, so it works with that,
This throttle block is what we use for the race bend bars:

Or you can save $17 from getting the billet throttle block,
and get the 10 degree flat bars and seperate hooks, then put the hooks on after the throttle block.
