Hey guys, I have a 2006 polaris iq 440 trail converted with fly bars fly riser, and custom decal kit, another guy wants to trade me 400 dollers plus his 2006 arctic cat 440 sno pro with fox floats, C&A race skis, fly bars AND an extra track, it's trail converted but it doesn't have a big tank.

My main concern is that it wont have a big enough tank because its only a 5 gal race tank.

Do you think it's a fair trade?
The sled he has to trade.
The sled he has to trade.

if it were me, i would do it! if your worried about the tank size, just use the $400 he gives you to get a bigger tank. id say its worth it, but i prefer cats too.

1997 Indy 500 L/C, motor just rebuilt: runs good. lost the engine mount while riding and its not in the sled!
1995 ZR 580EFI: just needs the speedometer cable

I wouldn't. Look, the IQ is still used on the track and is very successful. That cat hasn't been on the circuit in two years. That has to tell you something. I like Cat but your sled is superior to that Cat I believe.

to answer your question, yes it probably is a fair trade dollar wise. but i would keep your iq because of the same reasons firecat59 stated

Why exactly do you want to trade? Neither sled really outweighs the other in pros/cons. They are both strong sleds...just a matter of liking the color Red or Green, IMO.

A trail tank you run you $400+ for the SnoPro, just an FYI if you didn't know.

keep the IQ, better sled i think. if it was a 07 ac i would maybe think about it. id just keep it and save a few buck and buy a set of spindles from a 07 or 08 IQr, they are an inch shorter and really help cornering.

I agree with him. And like timespentsearching said, I would maybe (thats a big maybe) think about a trade for an 07. If not do the spindle swap like he said, you won't be dissapointed.

I wonder why he wants yours, maybe because the Polaris is better and he is sick of his AC.

Coming from a sno pro owner I would keep the iq. There is a much higher demand for iqs.

I'd keep the IQ. That Sno Pro is good, but it's not the sled that IQ is. I'd only trade it if you're a big time Cat man.

You would be the smartest man alive if you ditched that Polaris for that far superior Sno Pro. Arctic cat is one of the winningest sleds ever. Dont you want to be a winner?

LMFAO! That model sno pro isn't even on the track anymore and has'nt been for 2 seasons. The IQ-R is still basically the same sled. Brand bias much??

And how to you improve a race program if you don't remove a certain model from the track every now and then to advance technology? I'm not saying that era SnoPro was the greatest thing produced (all sleds have their pros/cons)...I just hate the fact that people say, "Oh, it's not on the track anymore, it must not be any good."

You already know your sled who's to say there's not more wrong with that AC

The fact that he wants to trade it + 400 for yours should tell you yours is better

keep the IQ

IQ for sure. Heard polaris are cheaper to fix then cats. But im BIAS for Polaris agaisnt cats. Prefer Polaris over any others. They seam to just keep on runing and running no matter what. Well all my friends and my old indy are all still running and all the motors in Polaris' around here are great.

If you cant fix it with duct tape, tylnol, or band aids your screwed.

They are the same damn thing statistically. Ride it if you like the feel better than the IQ go for it. Thats about the only difference. I like the sno pros over the IQ's. I coulda bought either, but went with the sno pro becuase I like the feel. But like I said before they are the same sled besides the ride.
