I took the polaris out to my friends house for a test ride on a airplane feild. and the sled is very smooth, BUT from dead stop floor it, bogs and going slowly then revved up to like 40-45 fast then kinda stay right there. when im still flooring it, the rpm climbs fast to 7,200-7,300 rpms. then when it reaches 40-45 mph, i watch the rpm back off while im flooring it. 7000 rpms to 6200 rpms and stays right there. slowly climb to 50. The sled was done, no more power at all. kinda feels like its bogging on upper end too. I can watch the rpm kinda go from like 6200-6000 then 6200-6000 over n over while flooring it. so what can be wrong?
Clutch is clean, (by brake cleaner) carb is clean, new plugs, track is not tight, im stumped. Im currently am talking to madcow abt clutching thru pm, but what do u guys think? the dealership gave me br8es spark plugs and i put that in, looked at the hood tag it say br9es so im gonna buy that tmrw. air screw out 1 turn, i did that. so what else can i check?
Tomorrow im putting in all new filters, clean the carb again, check all bearings, buy a new belt (mine is old)
Im wanting to wake up the performance a little bit. I will be glad to hit 70 mph on trail so im not left in the snow dust too much. I know the sled is no powerhorse. im keeping her tho, for the daughters n wife.
so what can i do? gear down the top sprocket? by how much? mines a 133 track. anything else?
Thanks in advance. Rich

Definitely replace the belt, you would be amazed how much difference that can make.
Also Both of the clutches should be inspected for worn bushings and other worn out parts.

^^yep if you are having issues start with the basic maintenance first. belt, plugs, actually take the carbs apart and clean them. then if that is all good then inspect the primary spring to make sure its not broke, if the springs are more than a few years old and you are having running issues then I would replace the springs. start with a new primary spring and see what that does, dont buy a used spring.
nothing goes like 3 holes!!

anyone?? abt the ebay kit.
i cleaned the carbs, changed my gas, new plugs and belt, still runs the same, so its probably the clutch. i sprayed carb cleaner around the seals, and the engine didnt raise the rpms, so i assume the crank seals is good? im starting to get frusturated with this sled. maybe i should leave it alone til the title arrives to be sure.. hmm
