my name is shawn and im 15 years old. In august i began restoring a 1981 scorpion sidewinder i got from a friend. I worked over 5 hours a day since august to make it decent. On monday i installed a 12v fuel pump and was riding in my yard. the sled shut off so i pulled the starter and things went bad. me and the sled took off i hit the killswitch but the fuel pump somehow shorted it out. the brake cable had snapped and they i lost control and the throttle stuck. i hit a large pine tree headon (no helmet) at over 70 mph. i then spent a night in the hospital with a broken wrist shattered hip and destroyed foot. my sled is tottaled. I just want to say be careful, know your sled and ride safe. And thanks for all the help and info from this site over the last couple months.

Ouch. That sucks. Hope for a good recovery.
Interesting to see that you're from Walnutport. My parents house is a couple miles down the road in Danielsville, but I'm usually at school.
