Hey good luck brother. I ship tomorrow as well and just saw this. If you are at Ft. Benning who know maybe I will see you there!

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers. Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other soldier. Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some. Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow. Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country. Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor. Well, he finally has written me, only had to threaten to send his "pookie bear" to him in a care package, and address it to him, in care of "cupcake Drill Seargent". He hated the first week, absolutely, he said his Platoon was getting smoked 305 minutes a day, and he missed home. The second letter, he said he was LOVING it, getting up at 0430, running 2 miles, lost 10 pounds, and was able to start an IV line in one of his "battle Buddies" unfortunately, his buddy took 8 trys to get it rite for him. He was not impressed. This week, he was issued battle armor, helmet, and a "rock sack". He sounds in great spirits, although he gets 10 minutes a week to call home, and has used 9 minutes and 15 seconds, with the girlfriend.

Awesome! Was this his first contact with you?

Tell him don't worry about his girlfriend, I got her covered!

I would be a little weary of the IV thing haha. Sounds like they try to break the bond between home and the service right off the bat. Nice.

he says he gets 2 minutes to eat, they first have to drink a glass of water, then eat the chow, and drink another glass of water. hes hoping that next week they get to have milk. He says he hates the girls in the platoon, to much drama, and they never shut up, causing them even more PT.. he went to the gas chamber , mask wasnt on all the way, and he was drippin snot from every orfice...

you didnt call me to go riding??? That part just jumped to 50, lol, and dont forget storage fees, for inside storage.. He was hoping that this week his platoon would get it together, and realize that they have to pass as a team. He is hoping that they will go from red phase to white phase, this way, the one who screws up, hes the one that has to do the PT. yes, Physical Training.
