Being a tall guy (6'2"), I was sick of my knees hitting the bars and bending over when standing up on the XC SP. That and I wanted a little bit more of a custom look to the sled, so out came the credit card...
(before pics)
(after pics)
For those who want to know all the different brand of materials, here it goes:
Handlebars: RSI Pro-taper 10* carbon fiber wrapped 1 1/8"
Risers: Rox adjustable risers 4" - 5.5"
Bar Pad: re-fabbed RSI pad with the logo's removed
Handwarmers: RSI extended warmers
Grips: ODI 8"
Bar Hooks: RSI shortys
Handgaurds: Powermadd grey/black Powermadd mounts
Windshield: Pure Polaris 11"
A lot of time was spent on smaller details, such as extending wiring and installing weather proof connections for all wires. I never liked the look of the 7/8" bar adapters, so I took out the steering stem and welded in a piece of knurled bar stock since I had to replace the bushings anyway.
As I was fabbing the bar together, I didn't like the look of how the ends of the brake controls and the throttle block was so I started looking for ideas. All Polaris models before and after the EDGE chassis, just used a throttle block end cap, so I got one for mine. As far as the brake side goes, I just took off the adapter piece (just like the new Polaris sleds). Let me know what you guys think!
I like to ride. Even if you have a Doo/Yami/Cat/Poo, so be it. I bought my snowmobile to have fun, not to tell everyone mine is better than yours. My preference...POLARIS, BABY!

Looks awesome, great attention to detail there. Your setup is a lot like mine, but you did a cleaner job.

how you like the taller bars on the trail?
So far, so good. It really does need to be about 1 -2" taller, but it's way better than it was. With my old boots it was just a touch too short, but now I have the HMK Pro BOAs and they are tall enough to upset the height when I'm standing up.
After looking at the geometry of the angle of the bars when it was done, I thought it would need some getting used to...guess I was wrong, as soon as I hit the trail with the new setup, it felt so much more natural when riding. I think the biggest thing that helped was just moving the bars forward.
I guess, when looking at it in person, the bars look super wide. When I first got the sled done I didn't think I would like the extra width. Again, after the first ride, it felt nice to have the extra leverage when pushing the sled through corners.

Not a fan of that tall windshield
Actually neither am I, but 99% of the riding I do is trail, and riding in northern Wisconsin short sprints across cold windy lakes can be damn near fatal. Even as it is, I can feel wind hit my neck, so I sacrificed a little bit of cosmetics for function.
Thanks for all the compliments you guys!!!
