Sorry I didn't mean it like that, I just thinking where to put one on a sled.

Also, doesn't the jack just sink in the snow?

check it out http://www.highliftjack.com/

If i lived in the mountains id probally have one of them..never seen em before til now.

I live right smack in the sierras and if never seen one before. But hey, new things everyday huh.

Number one rule that ive found out with hill climbing is before you start hittin them hills with force you got to get very very compfortable with walking your sled to the point of scraping your running board on the base, u gotta get compfortable with side hilling too. The main reason for that is when you start to feel your track diggin one of them little trenches of fun you got to be able to just whip your sled around and your gonna be tiltin it downhill so its gonna be hair raising the first time. But the best advice i ever got on climbing the steep an deep is when you start to feel your sled hint one way or the other you got to go with it, dont fight it thats how you get stuck.

One thing i noticed u guys were doin was you were puttin up to the hill then gunnin it, its a snowmobile, it aint a rock crawler speed helps, alot.

My favorite trick for gettin out tho is wen ur on a hill i like to roll my way out, I get below it, pull the handlebars down a bit. then i grab on to the guide arm and keep it nice an slow, then move my hands to the other guide arm as it comes round and slowly ease it down. The great advantage to this is that the track was already in a hole, so the front end is gonna swing round pretty good, then fire that sumbitch back up and get back down that hill and brag to all your friends that you got out yourself.

Ok, im done ranting...

the best way is to point the sled down hill, get someone to pull on the ski and gun it.
should get out easy

I found rolling the hole sled over all the way till it's back on it's skis again works the best so far.

I really like using a snowclaw. They work very well for getting unstuck. you can find them here http://www.snowclaw.com/ . Mine hooks up very nicely on my backpack cause half the time I cant get into my hood to retreive the shovel.

when you roll it over you probably want to shut your gas off first. i usually dig it out (dont forget a shovel) and turn it downhill. if the pow is really deep and soft just roll it on its side over and over till its sidehill position and go for it.

Don't see a reason for that. Even if it is carberated it usually takes a couple extra pulls to get it started unless you leave it sitting upside down...

I find that Ski-doos are the sleds that bog(usually don't start) after rolling. I almost ALWAYS roll my sled if I get it stuck. I dont care about the windshield and it gets it out of the trench every time. The one thing you should worry about is if you are on a steep hill. If you roll it on a steep hill it will continue to roll and is very hard to stop. I have been rolled over a number of times.

I'm gonna buy a good shovel ASAP. Hey GreenMachine00, How's that 151" track? Paddle size?

It seems like the longer track the worse the handling is, but its not horrible. I only have 1.50-1.75 inch lugs on right now, they go through deep stuff fine. I have a 2.25 track sitting in the shop for when I go out west. I haven't used that one yet.

Long tracks handle horrible on the trail. Kind of like driving a limo. Off the trail in the conditions they are meant for you don't even notice how big they are....

Ive noticed the new summits arent that bad on trails w/ a long track

Roll the thing over into fresh snow, or snow you've already packed down. I do it all the time. When you know you're getting stuck get off the gas so the track isn't trenched 3' down....if you do a real good trench you need a buddy to help you lift it up and it's a total PITA!

Two videos of my buddy....yea its uphill and the 2nd video could have gone worse but the hill was small. I actually rolled it half way down and nothing happened.

Getting stuck

Then rolling it.

Rolling works nicely in most situations, but watch out when you are in too steep... I have seen many sleds turned into missles... funny til it hits someone or something... Snobunjee is awesome, I wont go out without mine... digging holes and all that is fine but very time consuming... we have had to pulley sleds off other trees.. or just do what the pros do, call a chopper...
