Well my pistons and related parts should be in this afternoon. Since the one piston looks like it leaned out, how can I check or agjust the rate it pumps into the intake? So far, I am unsure why my piston took a hit. The case gaskets are fine. The only thing I am leaning to is an oil problem or something with the ecu.

Not sure if this will help your "leaned out" issue, but when you are installing the oil pump cable, there are two notches in the lever on your oil pump. With the throttle in the closed position, the notch on your pump should line up with the first notch on the lever. Same goes for WOT, the 2nd notch on the lever should line up with the mark on your pump. When breaking in your new engine, mix the gas in the tank at 50:1, then when the motor is idling, remove one of the oil lines where it connects to your cylinder. It should be dripping oil. If not, then you have an oil pump issue. Hope this helps.

If your piston burned lean it has nothing to do with your oil pump, you have a fuel problem that must be corrected or your just gonna pop pistons again...

The set-up listed above for the pump is correct. If you want to test the pump before assembly its simple. Place the pick up line in a jug of oil and spin the pump with a drill, be patient it pumps oil slowly but its easy to tell if its working or not.....

Well, still not sure if I lost a piston due to a lean condition or not yet. The plugs both looked normal. I do know the previous owner ran it real hard right after he put it back together. Maybe doing so messed things up???
