My speedometer quit on my '06 700 Classic and I'm about to change the speedometer sensor. There is only one bolt holding the sensor in position but it is in quite a tricky place to get at. Has anyone replaced one of these? Hints/tips?

I hate to reply to my own post but thought it might help someone else. I replaced the sensor and it wasn't difficult. Here is what I did:

Removed battery
Removed driven clutch
Removed battery box

This allowed the most access to the sensor. One bolt, the sensor came right out and a new one went right in. Replaced all the above and fired it up for a test. All is well.

Now... why did it fail in the first place? I hope this is a one time problem.
