I have 2 polaris 2006 sleds. Both seriously carve into the asphalt driveway and concrete sidewalks. Is this normal for a sled that had no modifcations since bought new? Would Skegs prevent this?

Yes thats normal, you can buy some I think there called ski boots, you put them on before you go into your driveway. You would have to check into them more, I don't have them myself.

Sharp carbides and good ski pressure will do that. My IQR really has alot of ski pressure, you could probley turn the sled on cement if you wanted to.

Try to stay off the pavement- you'll wear the carbides down in a hurry dragging them across pavement and concrete- plus you'll save your driveway.

yea they do that, about a week ago i took my sled out and when i returned home, i wasnt sure where to park the sled so i turned around in my yard and came out on the corner of my neighbors driveway(bad move) went inside to change and when i came out he was standing outside chewing me out(its one thing to let me know not to do it again, but im not your son you dont need to teach me a lesson) i apologized and offered to snowplow his driveway next time we had a storm, but he just sat there yelling at me, i was about ready to yell back(YEA I GET THE PICTURE, YOU DONT WANT ME ON YOUR DRIVEWAY I WONT DO IT AGAIN) its not like i didnt hear you the first time and what do you want me to do about it now i cant turn time back, on his part i thought he was being a prick, but i apologized instead(didnt want to give snowmobilers a bad name) But yea moral of the story they do leave marks lol (the dumb part about it is you cant even see the scratches anymore) but it was his property and i had no right damaging it, I can see where he was coming from but still all he had to do was let me know and i would have gone the lengths to fix it but he had to just sit there and yell and yell like i killed someone or something, thank god were in the process of moving!!!

^ Man up. Assuming it is blacktop, go get a pail of the patch stuff and bring it to his house offering to fix it up in these warmer temps. If he declines, just leave the pail with him with another sincere apology.

Yep, there is about a mile or two worth of straight cuts down the side of our road from my carbides. you can see just about everywhere we ever rode on or across the road. Its completely normal. If you have studs and spin them on your driveway you also put nice little scratches on the asphalt.
