So yesterday we took the sleds out, just some ditch banging to make sure the sleds are running good before we take our yearly vacation to deadwood SD, so anyway we start following a trail for a couple miles out of town, when all of a sudden we came to a HUGE field with about 2 Ft of untouched snow, yea it was a little rough on top from the diverse weather, but none the less none of us were expecting to see any snow like that around, all in all we had a great time and got some great snow, hopefully its the same next year.

Do you guys have any stories like this?? post em

Thanks

I do like finding those spots, but I really like riding and finding incredible scenic overlooks, winter scenes such as a pond or a spot that you would never find on foot. Most of these places are not so spectacular in the summer....the winter gives them a certain beauty. Sometimes I just shut my sled off and enjoy the moment. I also take lots of photos.

Great Topic!!! One of the main reasons I like to ride....finding the unknown/unseen.

Yeah...a bunch of off the beaten path lakes that are great to ride and even better to look at.

My favorite thing to do while snowmobiling is exploring and finding cool spots... Just spontaneously taking a skinny logging road that will probably dead end and coming across an awesome spot or a shortcut or something is the best.

On Black Bay, Lake Superior there is a shallow bay with lots of reeds. The wind drifts up all through these weeds makin a big pile of snow about 5-6 ft deep. Makes for nice jumps off the banks and nice soft landings, Lots of fun.

agreed thats why i love the black hills, everytime you reach an opening in the trees at the top of a hill , all you can see is miles and miles of black hills
