i was experiencing some hesitation with my dragon when i accelerate to full throttle around 45 mph and up. I would get off the throttle and get right back on it and it would seem to run fine. Very fast sled when it ran good. Pulled the plugs and they were a good color. Anyone have a dragon and get this reflash done yet? Did anyone notice more power or better mpg's ??
thanks guys...

There is no 100% cure. This has been talked about in a couple of sled mags. The problem is Polaris uses a low and high power jet. The bog is from when it switches from the low to the high jet. It is a lean bog.
Apparently Ski Don't has a patent on the fuel injection technology that alleviates the problem.

There is a lot of people having this issue with their new 800's. I'm not sure which flash you have, But Polaris has recently come up with a new flash. http://polaris.diagsys.com/modules.php?n...oad&cid=26 I believe the new flash adds fuel to the mid range and leans out the top end where the 800 is running rich. Check out the Polaris/IQ section at hardcore sledder there is a ton of information on it. There is already rumor of Polaris coming out with another re flash soon.

This sucks Polaris can't get a new 9,000 dollar sled to run right from the factory. There has been a lot of burned down Dragons and unhappy people with that sled. Best of luck with your sled hope you get the stumble worked out.

In 2007 Poo had several recalls to fix the hesitation on the 700 Dragons. One of those fixes had to do with fuel intake (not sure what it was because it was warranty)and the other was a re-flash of the computer. Mine is 100% bog free now, and has been since the 2008 season. Hope Polaris has a fix for you guys! Next weekend I will be riding with a guy that has the 09 800 Dragon, I will see what his is like.

Good luck.

i was at the shop today and the guy was sayin they are blowing at 1300 miles -- check your compression 135 each side -- also he noticed the ones that had been drivin nice were blowing sooner -- they like to be beat up i guess -- something about the exhaust ports being to big. anyway mine checked out good 583 miles

I think I'll wait a little while and see how everyone else does with the reflash and go from there, as my assault rips the way it is.

Hey Bensen, Did you have the reflash done? I am wondering because I have not had mine done yet and don't know if I will.

X2, Funny thing is mine was at the exact same milage.

I did not have the reflash yet. Got the phone call about half an hour after it blew. They put a whole new short block in mine. The problem is the piston ring land is failing. There has been three in my area out of four or five with the same problem. Mine was the worst because I had to drive it on one cylinder for a couple miles to get to town. They were at first blaming the lean spot until they pulled it apart. Two days after mine was in the shop another one came in down on compression and they replaced the pistons and cylinder. I had a look at the piston out of that one and you could see where the ring land had started to open. Got mine back a couple days ago with the new reflash, its running better then the last motor was. Hesitation is gone and so are the two lean spots from the pervious fuel map. There as been guys blowing up anywhere from 250 miles up to 2000 miles. I would not go to far on your own and without a tow strap.

Wow, you must have had to drive a bit with that cylinder down to get that much damage. Man that brings back memories from when I had my banshee!!! Rings would wear just enough and catch a port and boom. No power and instantly know your f*****. Well hopefully it's covered. Good luck

They are covered....two year warranty on the 800's. I can't say enough good things about mine, but it's obvious there are going to be some serious recalls on it. Hopefully when they dial these in it is in such a manner that they can get a few more ponies out of them.

1066 miles on mine and it is still strong. Prior to this past weekends ride i had 135 and 132 psi in each cylinder. I decided to check again and now i'm 132 129.

It is a piston problem in my opinion and it needs addressed. Even for those who haven't had one go down yet.
