I got mine going today. It starts but doesn't run. It must have a weak fuel pump. I guess its just a never ending project.

yea some of them do, a car rad would probably be cheaper. i don't know if a atv rad would be big enough.
considar how much rad area there is on a snowmobile and it runs in cold weather, now run it in the summer, don't you think your going to need a bigger rad?
I'm just giving you idea what could what could happen so you don't overheat it.

Im sure the right sized atv radiator would work plenty fine. A small car one would have no problem cooling it down for sure. Either one is good, but atv ones i dont believe to be real cheap, maybe you can find an older one or something for cheap.

What i still need to do to get it running yet
~put in steering system
~build double a arms
~buy - radiator

- drive chain #41
- hubs for the wheels
- coolant
- new jets (need to rejet engine too)
- two more shocks
~ set up - all the fluids for the motor

Yep its looking like its coming together.

One question, are you putting rear suspenion in it? If not, you really should. The way it appears right now, it wouldnt be very hard to add in some suspension. The whole rear end, motor and all would move, givin the suspension. It would make a much better ride. Not sure if you know what i mean, but like the rear of the frame, and the front of the rear piece, those would be joined together by something allowing it to move around (hinge style thing you know) And then you would put shocks from the rear part to the main frame.

Also, got something else you might like the idea of. I see another blaster on craigslist, you can use the a-arms and spindles off it for your front end, then you just need wheels to fit on it. It would be lots easier than making your own a-arms.

well im pretty sure it'll have enough power for it to go, hopefully. um ya im goin to. im goin to have a rear and front section put together with a pivot on the bottem, and then a shock on the top part of the frame. hopefully that should work good

Make sure when you put the front suspension together that you have every angle right, theres a video on you tube that I watched that shows how steering systems should look and how they work. Because when your turning the inside wheel needs to turn sharper than the outer one. The pivot point(or something like that)needs to be close to the center of the tire. The things to worry about make it so much easier to steer if it is done right. It also will help the steering through rough ground which I assume this thing will be driven on mainly. I'll look up the video later and post a link if I can.

Kudos on the build so far...and for using a front suspension like that!! Just remember, all of your pivot points are VERY important!! To prevent binding and bump-steer. Here's a couple of files that might help with the design....it's really not as hard as it looks!!

Yeah, that drawing is kind of confusing if you haven't done this work before. I'll try to make it easier....if things are not aligned properly, you could get binding in the suspension/steering, or major bump-steer, and that would be really bad at any kind of speed.

If you look at the right side of the pic. you will see a line from the upper control arm going to the left. The same with the lower. These two lines will make an intersection point. Now draw a line from that intersection point to the right where the "rack and pinion" will be mounted(it's centerline). Draw a line from the upper control arm pivot to the lower pivot. Where that line and the "rack and pinion" line intersect, that is where you want your inner tie rod. If this is off, you WILL break things. Not what you want to do at high speeds.

On a cart like you are building, I wouldn't think it would have to be perfect, but real close.

To get an idea, look at a rear wheel drive car - an older one that has a rack in it. It'll be a little more clear exactly what they did.

Also look at the pivots on your sled..they are angled so the skiis dig when turned.
