That video is of a prototype sled which was rated at 157hp.
Motor was detuned to 154hp for reliability.
Dyno tested by Dynotech at only 147hp.

Alot of people having bogging problems with them in mid-range
and alot of them are blowing up.

So, if you think your going to buy one and go 117mph, you are in for a big disappointment, like alot of other people who bought into the hype.

Have you ever ridden one? A lot of people seen to like to bash these and talk big with out ever actually ridding one. NOT saying you don't know what your talking about. It's just that there are people like that on here. Very annoying to have to listen to those kink of people. I own an 08 800. Given it is an RMK, so I can't speak for top speed, but my sled is simply stupid fast. Tops out at about 85 mph. But I never go that fast anyway, so it doesn't bother me that it's not a 120 MPH sled. The RMK pulls like no other sled I have ridden, stop on a flat field, and pin it, it'll stand that 155 on the bumper and hold it there. So with that said, I would like to try a short tracker 800. When these motors work, they really work well. Now the problems with the motors seem to be real, I know, as mine is also sitting at the dealer in need of a top end. They are starting to think it could be from a lack on oil that these things are blowing from, not the fuel map. As they are not melting down, they are all scoring on the exhaust port side. Every time, one side worse than the other. I hope they find a fix that works soon. It's all warranty, but whats warranty if you can't ride?

I have had some seat time on a 09 dragon 800 cfi which is my brother in laws, yes the sled pulls really hard and is fun to ride. With that being said he still has the mid-range stumble even after the re flash and his top end is not what one would expect it to be. There is a lot of good running new 800 cfi's out there, unfortunately there is a lot of problem sled's out there too. Polaris definitely has some work to do with their cfi/mapping.

If you check out the Polaris section on this site their is a few post about the new 800, and if you check out the Polaris IQ section at hcs it seems like it's every other post is a burned down dragon 800 or how their dragon 800 wont run right.

Some people will tell you its poor mapping, and that its to lean in the mid range and to rich on the top end, which the new re flash is suppose to help. It helped my brother in laws sled but not completely. Some people say its a heat issue or to much piston slop, etc. etc.

Is hard to believe Polaris has had so much issues with their larger bore cc sleds recently. The Fusion 900, the older xc800 crank problems and now their new 800cfi. Their 600 is rock solid and proven tough.it wont be long before even loyal Polaris owners will look to another brand when they want a larger bore sled.

I'm not bashing here at all and Polaris is still my brand of choice but i can also understand all the pissed off people that spent 9000 dollars on a sled and it wont run right from the factory, the snowmobile season is to short to have your new sled siting in the dealer for weeks at a time. Yes i know all the brands have their issues, and their will be problems with a new motor, but a little more R&D would be nice before a customer drops 9 grand on a new sled.

if you spend 9 grand on a sled it better work right, and it should perform to 154,hp, not 147 or whatever it was. And if they can't make that without compromising reliability they should just say it only makes 147(but that will never happen)

Mine pops wheelies, hehe. This one I rode for about 100 feet but had to let off because of the upcoming forest.

Not trying to brag but who the hell can actually say they've given this sled a chance. Not many will do this.

Yeah it's the 800's. And a few 700's are also having issues. But not near to the point of the 800's. The 600 is a bullet proof motor.

How many miles do you have on yours? Most seem to run good till about 400 miles, give or take, and start blowing out, for most part, around 600 miles and up. That's what guys are reporting from snowest, mine also quit at 850 miles. Right around where most do.

sweet... yeah for the price i dont think anything can beat the IQ 600. has anyone seen any serious problems with the 600s? im sick of fixing a broken down snowmobile. this is the first season my snowmobile hasnt broke down (knock on wood) and im just getting sick of it. dont get me wrong, im a grease monkey and love fixing stuff, but its just to much money. i dont want to put money into fixing a sled, i want to put money into a sled to make it faster and stronger. is the 2010 IQ 600 right for me? im 6'4", 250 lbs. i dont want to spend more than 9000 dollars on a sled. i wouldnt mind getting one that is like a year or 2 old.

I'm right at the "breaking point" apparently. I guess if it blows I'll have a new mill and I'll just put beefier pistons in it and whatever else I can do to make it stronger (I still say they're bad ass sleds)!

How many miles do you have on yours? Most seem to run good till about 400 miles, give or take, and start blowing out, for most part, around 600 miles and up. That's what guys are reporting from snowest, mine also quit at 850 miles. Right around where most do.

I'm right at the "breaking point" apparently. I guess if it blows I'll have a new mill and I'll just put beefier pistons in it and whatever else I can do to make it stronger (I still say they're bad ass sleds)!

O ok, cool stuff, well for your sake I hope it keeps running mint for you. Can you do that? Put in non polaris pistons? Would that nt void your warranty?
