Heyy everyone i need some help with this, im looking to get a new snowmobile next year. I havent really looked into the new models yet. Wondering on what is everyone's impressions on the new sleds coming out next year. Money isnt to big of an issue but i dont wanna go out of hand. I am a big trail rider, usually pretty rough trails. It wont be jumped or anything like that, just maybe off a small cliff i see along side the trail. I want an extended track, but those are pretty much the norm now a days. Anyone have any suggestions?

i would say if you want a new sled, and have no money problem... and likes to trail ride, with a long track.... a polaris 800 dragon switchback.... or the 800 switchback. just my .02

Dragon 800 or 600 switchback. The 600 has a ton of snort but if you ride the two back to back you'll fall in love with the 800

The D8 is a great sled. My brother just got one and other then one small problem which Polaris fixed for free it's a sweet sled. Also the D6 is a great buy, 136" track, and sweet suspension.

What's your problem? RUFWM?

I do think that Nytros have tipped up rails. The only reason I remember this is that when Polaris had the tipped up 144's, the magazines said they were crap. Then last spring when the Nytro introduced them, the magazines creamed in their pants because it was such an amazing innovation.

I won't go as far as crums with his Nytro bashing, but I did ride the Nytro last year, and I'd warn anyone considering one that they had better get some seat time on one before they buy!

^^^ way to go, tuff guy. Why not say why, instead of just making a laim comment like that.

I too will be looking to get a "new" sled, more a sled for the wife than a new one for me. So I will be intersted in seeing where this thread goes.

The wife only bought me the sled, so that she can get one this year :( Guess I have to get her one.

So did I. Actually I just saw their add on the back of Snowtech. I thought what, polaris had that firat and they stopped. Why is yours so "new". Anyways to the thread topic. I would go with a Switchback. 600 for fuel mileage, or the 800 if you want power.

If mostly trail riding check out the new Polaris 600 IQ shift 136, the shift is probably the best value on snow for a new sled, and poos 600 flat out rips. Or check out the 600 switchback. I've also heard good things about cats crossfire 800.

I would say either a Polaris Switchback 600 or a 800 model. I have ridden the Switch 600 and was really surprised by the way it handled the bumps and the very nice throttle response it had compared to my sleds. With any sled you should study what there is and find what you like

what weekend are the drags? im a huge Yammy fan ive never riden anything except a yamaha all my life. i figured i would broaden my horizons, i was looking at the dragons, the 800 would fit me better i like the speed. im also a fairly large guy, 6'4", 250 lbs. i want something with a solid suspension, i just am not a huge fan of walker evans, do the dragons have WE shocks? i know the rush do. i perfer fox shocks on everything i have, i even have them on my mountain bike.

when i said money isnt a problem, i didnt mean i could afford a 12,000 dollar sled haha. im a colege student with a limtied budget, i was looking, and i really like the IQ600. I love the style of it, just all black, it leaves you with a wide open range of what you want to do to it. plus, its fairly cheap, actually really cheap. has anyone known anyone who has had an IQ? what do they think about it?

yeah my friend has a rev, he seems to enjoy it, he has two, one for snowcorss that is stripped down and tuned up, and another for riding that is 100% stock. but idk ive never been a huge rev fan. Im leaning more towards polaris, they have really been kicking it up with snowmobiles that are fairly cheap. the 2010 IQ600 retails at 7000.

Buy a Rush and tell us all about it! If i was gunna buy one, I'd go for the Switchback Dragon 800! But i guess it depends on the type of riding you plan to do, trail, steep and deep, or on/off trail.

If you look at new sled at a dealer that is a left over from previous year(s) you might not have to spend a crazy amount.
