Looks like the exhaust side of the sled got hotter(so the fire probably started there). Might have been a plugged silencer? But the silencer isn't even melted, nor is the pipe. In one of the other pictures it looks like the clutch got really hot too so maybe the fire didn't start on the exhaust side? Polaris has been having some electrical problems(mainly regulators) with these sleds as well, might be the problem.

Those pics almost made me weep. I hope that Polaris will stand by their product and replace that sled. Preferably with one that won't burn. With a sled that new, the question as to "why" isn't as important as "will they replace it".

That totally sucks.

That is the same thing that i was thinking. There have been alot of problems with the new 800's lately.

Does anyone know if the switch 800's are the same as the rmk 800's for motors?

When sleds burn they burn real good and almost impossible to analyze. Many say sled fires often occur shortly after an engine failure when some how a friction fire starts between the ownership and insurance papers.
