My buddy's '07 Dragon blew up again today, for the third time in just under 6000 miles.

We are pretty sure the mag side connecting rod broke, all the coolant ran out of the sled on the side of the trail. You can still move the clutch, the mag side piston is stuck at the top and looks like it's split in half. The spark plug is smashed shut. The PTO side piston still goes up and down. Sometimes you can turn the clutch in complete circles but sometimes something is jamming in there.

Luckily, it's still on warranty. I'd like to tear it apart to see what is all wrecked, but no can do. I think he'll take it to the dealer tomorrow.

Every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. That means every day you see me, that's the worst day of my life.

3 times in 6000 miles that sucks. I don't believe Polaris ever really got that 700 cfi dialed in. At Least it's still under warranty and its not the beginning of the season. Best of luck.

Yessir, it was Cody's.

Well, he is gonna get it fixed and finish the year off with it, but I have a feeling we won't be seeing much of the '07 Dragon next year...

yeah but when you see al this information on here saying that there not a reliable as they should be, then you go out and buy a brand new 800 dragon... and after 1000 miles it blows up on you... who do you blame?

Just because 3 or 4 guys have issues doesn't make all the sleds bad.

but its not just 3 or 4 guys! look i get what your saying, just cause some fail doesnt mean they all will. but when buying a sled, id like to buy something that is PROVEN to be reliable. and im sorry but the larger bore polaris's just arent that right now. id love to rip on a 800 poo and not worry about it breaking down if i run over 7000rpm. thatd be awesome and they would sell like crazy. but the bigger sled polaris are making just arent as reliable as alot of us hoped. i dont really want to fight about this, your right, all manufacturers have their problems, but when you know a manufacturer is having a problem with something, and they go ahead and purchase it and take a risk, then that default that everyone is complaining about happens to you... im sorry but that person deserves it to happen. im not trying to be cynical but you learn from others.

The larger the cylinders the more weight thats moving up and down 7000 times a minute. thats hard on a crankshaft and I can see why the larger the engine the more prone it is to breakdown. But, the good part is that its under warranty, at least you don't have to pay for it, or fix it.

PERFECTLY SAIDthats why i like triples, you get the power, and the reliability. in the 10 years ive had my SRX ive blown it up once and that was going 95 @ 8000 rpms for like 8 miles. i was young and stupid. the problem is that you gain some of weight with the third cyinder, but not such a significant amount that makes it pointless to have it. i think they should bring triples back for the larger cc engines. nothing sounds better than a tiple that is piped, its like an old muscle car . but dont get me wrong, twins are amazing too. they both have their advantages and their disadvatages.

Whats to disagree on? You said the added cylinder added a ton of weight. Picture proves your statement wrong.
